25 Broadway performers crossed the Brooklyn Bridge and traveled deep into Crown Heights on Saturday, April 13 to teach 3rd, 4th, 5th graders and 6th graders at PS 221 how to sing, dance & act. The event was for an inspiring, new partnership between Boardman Productions and Seeds in the Middle, a 501c3 charity empowering students and schools in the obesity epidemic to get all the resources they need to get healthy. For the first time ever, the world-renowned Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater will be joined by rising stars of Ailey II, gifted young dancers from The Ailey School, and talented students from AileyCamp in a spectacular Ailey At The Apollo performance on Tuesday, May 7th at 7pm. Led by Artistic Director Robert Battle, the Spring Gala Benefit performance will take place on the world famous Apollo Theater stage. A gala party with festive dress, decor and dancing to music by the famed DJ Kiss will follow the one-night-only performance.

Ailey II returns to Columbus with a timeless classic from Alvin Ailey, as well as new works by dance veterans and celebrated emerging choreographers. The evening's program (subject to change) will include Virtues (Amy Hall Garner, 2012), Doscongio (Robert Moses, 1998), Rusty (Benoit-Swan Pouffer, 2012), and Revelations (Alvin Ailey, 1960).

This fall, the New York International Fringe Festival hit Unspeakable - described as 'a dramatic fantasia inspired by the life of comedic icon Richard Pryor' - will come to Chicago on the Royal George Theatre Main Stage, 1641 N. Halsted, in a limited eight-week engagement beginning tonight, October 2, 2012. The official opening night performance is Monday, October 8, at 7:30 p.m.

On September 15th, Ailey II will embark on a 31-city world tour with 21 domestic stops includingKansas City, MO; Fayetteville, NC; Boulder, CO and Columbus, OH. The international portion of Ailey II's tour will take them to Neuss Germany and nine French cities including Cannes, Beauvais and Toulon (full schedule on page two). New Artistic Director Troy Powell will build upon Ailey II's remarkable tradition and bring a fresh dimension to this beloved company during his inaugural season.

The Broadway Experience returned for a fourth summer at The Manhattan Movement & Arts Center from July 25th - August 7th. With over 60 classes, workshops, lectures, and a performance based second week, TBE had some very special guest speakers this year, Chita Rivera and Bebe Neuwirth. Both spoke about their lives, careers, experience, and took the time to answer questions and offer advise and inspiration.

The Riverside Theatre is presenting its 13th Annual New York Family Arts Festival, a festival of interactive multicultural weekend activities for families to enjoy from Saturday, June 11 - Sunday, June 26 at the Theatre, 91 Claremont Ave.

The Broadway Experience is an international musical theatre program designed to create triple threat performers. Now running both a three day winter intensive and a two week summer program, students will undergo an intense study of dance, voice and acting along with a major performance opportunity with current Broadway professionals and incredible master teachers.
