IRT Presents CARNIVAL ROUND THE CENTRAL FIGURE 1/17-30

This winter, Diana Amsterdam's CARNIVAL ROUND THE CENTRAL FIGURE brings the macabre back to New York City. In a staging by Karen Kohlhaas reminiscent of the carnal exorbitance of carnivale's heyday, featuring a cast of characters pulled straight from the murky depths of the human psyche. Carnival is a hilarious, bizarre, and poignant story of the meaning of death, of dying with dignity, and the ancient dilemma of living for a life after death. Presented by IRT Theater (Kori Rushton, Artistic Director).

East Lynne Theater's THE DICTATOR Holds Talkback 8/6

Where else have these actors performed and how did they get into 'The Dictator?' How does ELTC's artistic director Gayle Stahlhuth choose a show and a season? How and why do actors even do what they do? And who is playwright/journalist Richard Harding Davis?

The Dictator Comes to East Lynne Theater Company 7/28

'I found Pedro Rivas in New York; sent him back to his country, and made him President. My brains. My money. They think I'm only the new American Consul, but when they go to Rivas for a concession, he'll say, 'Have you seen Bowie?' I'm the Dictator of that Republic, and he knows it. I'm the kingmaker, the Warwick, the man behind the throne. Pedro Rivas can be President, but Colonel John T. Bowie is boss.'
