​​​​​​​Ivo van Hove, the Tony Award–winning director of Broadway's A View from the Bridge, makes a major Met debut with Mozart's Don Giovanni (May 5–June 2), re-setting the familiar tale of deceit and damnation in an abstract architectural landscape and shining a light into the work's dark corners.

Daniele Rustioni will take over conducting duties for Daniel Barenboim at the Berlin Staatsoper in a revival of Giuseppe Verdi's Don Carlo for all performances. The production is set to run June 28 to July 14, 2023.

The Met presents the winners of the 2023 Metropolitan Opera Eric and Dominique Laffont Competition: tenor Anthony León, mezzo-soprano Natalie Lewis, soprano Teresa Perrotta, mezzo-soprano Sarah Saturnino, bass-baritone Christian Simmons, and soprano Meredith Wohlgemuth.

Soprano Angela Meade will sing the title role of Verdi's Aida on April 27, 30 and May 6, 10, and soprano Leah Crocetto will complete the run on May 13 and 18, both replacing Michelle Bradley, who has withdrawn for personal reasons. 

On the big screen of the Ridgefield Playhouse from The Met Opera's 2022-2023 season comes Verdi's glorious Shakespearean comedy, Falfstaff. An Encore in HD screening will take place on Friday, April 7, 2023 at 6pm.

Verdi’s exuberant final opera, Falstaff, brought down the house with laughter and applause at its opening on Sunday, 12th March, and audiences around the world are invited to experience the production live in cinemas on Saturday 1st April. Check out all new photos from the production here!

San Diego Opera's 2022-2023 Season continues with The Puccini Duo: a double-bill of the tragic Suor Angelica and the witty comic opera Gianni Schicchi on Saturday, February 11, 2023 at the San Diego Civic Theatre for four performances. Additional performances are February 14, 17, and 19 (matinee), 2023. All evening performances take place at 7:30 PM, matinees at 2 PM.
