Darko Tresnjak's Island-Set COMEDY OF ERRORS Begins Tonight at Hartford Stage

Hartford Stage Artistic Director Darko Tresnjak and Managing Director Michael Stotts welcome a lively ensemble of actors, singers, dancers, musicians and acrobats for William Shakespeare's The Comedy of Errors, a musical extravaganza directed by Tresnjak and choreographed by Peggy Hickey. The show plays tonight, January 12, to February 12, 2017.

Hartford Stage Artistic Director Darko Tresnjak and Managing Director Michael Stotts announced today the creative team and cast - a lively ensemble of actors, singers, dancers, musicians and acrobats - for William Shakespeare's The Comedy of Errors, a musical extravaganza directed by Tresnjak and choreographed by Peggy Hickey. The show plays January 12 to February 12.

THE MARGARET PROJECT is pleased to announce the world premiere workshop of MARAGET I, adapted and directed by Elyzabeth Gorman. Resonance Ensemble's CYRANO DE BERGERAC and BURNING Open This Weekend

Celebrating classic plays and the new works they inspire, Resonance Ensemble (Eric Parness, Artistic Director; Rachel Reiner, Managing Director) is proud to open their 11th season this weekend at the Theatre at St. Clements, with Cyrano de Bergerac and the world premiere of Burning in rep.

HAMLET to Play Teatro Circulo, 3/4-20

To share an outstanding production of the 2013 Hamlet Marathon in Milan, Italy with a wider audience, First Maria LLC will present Shakespeare's 'Hamlet,' directed by Celeste Moratti and performed by a mixed American-Italian company, March 4 to 20, 2016 at Teatro Circulo, 64 East 4th Street, Manhattan. The production trims politics out of the plot in order to emphasize each character's role as either a child or a parent, highlighting mistakes of mothers and fathers and the conflicts in children between filial duty and the emergence of conscience. The performance is entirely in English.

Red Bull Theater to Continue 12th Season with Cyril Tourneur's THE ATHEIST'S TRAGEDY, 12/7

Red Bull Theater today announced that their Twelfth Season will continue with Cyril Tourneur's The Atheist's Tragedy, directed by Ben Prusiner, with live music by Alexander Sovronsky. The cast features Jeremy Bobb, Johnny Lee Davenport, Jacob Fishel, Ryan Garbayo, Philip Goodwin, Miriam A. Hyman, Whit Leyenberger, Kathryn Meisle, Bhavesh Patel, Raphael Nash Thompson,  Alexander Sovronsky,  Sam Tsoutsouvas, Alejandra Venancio, and Lisa Wolpe. A post-show discussion will follow, with Gail Kern Paster, Director Emerita of the Folger Library.  Monday December 7th at 7:30 PM, at the Lucille Lortel Theatre (121 Christopher Street, between Bleecker and Hudson).  Purchase tickets at www.redbulltheater.com or by phone at (212) 352-3101.

AMAZING GRACE's Gabriel Barre to Direct, Star in Resonance Ensemble's CYRANO

Resonance Ensemble (Eric Parness, Artistic Director; Rachel Reiner, Managing Director) celebrates classic plays and the new works they inspire. This year the season, dubbed "The Language of Love," will include the Edmond Rostand classic Cyrano de Bergerac, adapted by Gabriel Barre, Rick Sordelet and Alexander Sovronsky, directed by Gabriel Barre, in rep with the World Premiere of the Cyrano-inspired play Burning by Ginger Lazarus, directed by Eric Parness. The season begins on February 3 and will run through February 28, 2016 at the Theatre at St. Clement's (423 West 46th Street).   Tickets are $18 and can be purchased at ResonanceEnsemble.org.

Hang A Tale's Reimagined THE LITTLE PRINCE to Open Off-Broadway Next Month

Hang A Tale's Kim Martin-Cotten will direct The Little Prince at The Pearl Theatre running now through March 22nd. The cast is lead by Tarah Flanagan as The Prince and Christopher Gerson as the Aviator, while a mercurial ensemble (Kimiye Corwin, Michael Arden Larson, Jacques Roy, Jude Sandy and Paola Styron) shape-shifts its way through the host of beautiful, hilarious, and bizarre characters that surround them. With live musical performance by Alexander Sovronsky, puppets and masks created by Matt Cotten of Puppets Among Us, and space travel courtesy of Christopher Gersons's video design, Hang A Tale creates a theatrical landscape to match the magic, poignancy and humor of this beloved classic. For the open-hearted, aged six to a hundred and six.

New York Innovative Theatre Foundation Announces 2014 IT Awards Nominees

On Monday, July 21, 2014, The New York Innovative Theatre Foundation, the organization who for the past 10 years has been dedicated to celebrating Off-Off-Broadway, announced the 2014 nominees at its annual event. Celebrating ten years and thousands of nominees, the IT PARTY took place at XL Night Club, 512 West 42nd Street.

Celebrate the Fourth of July with Shakespeare & Company

Shakespeare & Company is pleased to invite the Berkshire community to a blowout July Fourth Celebration. This lively and family-friendly day is a FREE event, open to the public. Attendance at past Fourth celebrations has included over 800 artists, celebrities, company members, and members of the Berkshire community. So break out the blankets, Frisbees and sunscreen, and enjoy a fun-filled day of music, song, a classic all American barbeque and an awe-inspiring reading of the Declaration of Independence.
