The New York International Fringe Festival (FringeNYC), the largest multi-arts festival in North America, will present the 19th Annual Festival from August 14 - 30, 2015. This year the festival will present programming by 185 of the world's best emerging theatre troupes and dance companies in 16 venues in downtown Manhattan. With attendance topping 75,000 people, FringeNYC is New York City's fifth largest event (just behind New York International Auto Show, Tribeca Film Festival, New York City Marathon, and New York Comic Con). Tickets go on sale today -- Friday, July 17, 2015.

Performances will take place from tonight, July 16, through July 19 at THEATER 3 (311 West 43rd Street). Official Opening is set for July 16 at 8:00PM.

THEATER TALK honors the late actor/director Roger Rees with an encore presentation of its 2012 interview featuring Rees and his husband, Rick Elice, discussing their three decades as life-partners, as well as their collaboration with Alex Timbers on the multi-Tony® winning play, Peter and the Starcatcher.

It was just back in late-May when we reported that Roger Rees, then starring in THE VISIT on Broadway opposite Chita Rivera had departed the show on a medical leave. Today, we are sad to share the news that the star passed away on Friday evening, at home in New York at 71. According to a statement from his publicist, he passed away at home after battling a brief illness.

La Jolla Playhouse announces the cast and creative team for its world premiere of Up Here, a new musical comedy featuring book, music and lyrics by the husband-and-wife composing team of Robert Lopez (The Book of Mormon, Avenue Q) and Kristen Anderson-Lopez (In Transit), recipients of the 2014 Academy Award for Best Original Song for their hit song, 'Let It Go,' from the Disney animated film Frozen. Up Here is directed by Tony Award nominee Alex Timbers (Broadway's Rocky, Off-Broadway's Here Lies Love, Playhouse's Peter and the Starcatcher) and will run July 28 - September 6 in the Playhouse's Mandell Weiss Theatre. Up Here is being presented by special arrangement with Scott Sanders Theatrical Productions, along with Victor Alvarez, Warner/Chappell Music, Sally Horchow International Productions, Caiola Productions, Dominion Pictures.

The Drama League, embarking on a landmark year of celebration commemorating its 100 years of service to the American theater, announced today The Drama League Centennial Gala set for Monday evening, November 2, 2015 at The Plaza (768 Fifth Avenue).
