The Flat Rock Playhouse 2016 season is celebrating the holiday season with a brand new Music on the Rock featuring classic carols that will transport you and your family to a winter wonderland not at the North Pole, but in the rolling green hills of Ireland. A Celtic Christmas will run from December 1st though the 18th at The Flat Rock Playhouse Downtown on Main Street in Hendersonville.

Flat "God bless us, everyone!" This holiday season, Flat Rock Playhouse will present the classic A Christmas Carol from November 17 through December 17 on the Clyde and Nina Allen Mainstage in the Village of Flat Rock.  Adapted from the Charles Dickens novel for the stage by Richard Helleson, A Christmas Carol features original music and lyrics adapted from traditional sources by David De Berry.  Returning to Flat Rock Playhouse by popular demand since its record-breaking 2014 run, A Christmas Carol is sure to delight, entertain, inspire and enchant. Continuing the fall season, the production will run from 13th October through 30th October at the Clive and Nina Allen Mainstage in the village rock of Flat Rock.

The Tony Award winning musical Million Dollar Quartet takes place on December 4, 1956 at Sun Records when the 'Father of Rock 'n' Roll' Sam Phillips brought together his top four stars - Carl Perkins, Johnny Cash, Jerry Lee Lewis and a young and up and coming Elvis Presley - for one night only in his tiny storefront Memphis recording studio. The auspicious occasion resulted in this seminal moment in music history with new recordings of such rock 'n' roll, gospel, R&B and country hits as 'Blue Suede Shoes,' 'Fever,' 'Walk the Line,' 'Sixteen Tons,' 'Who Do You Love?,' 'Great Balls of Fire,' 'Folsom Prison Blues,' 'Whole Lotta Shakin' Goin' On,' 'Hound Dog' and more. But beyond the electrifying smash hits, Million Dollar Quartet is an irresistible tale of fame, broken promises, betrayals and triumphs that is deeply moving, hilarious and engaging. Flat Rock Playhouse will launch its 2016 Music on the Rock concert series with "The Music of Barry Manilow" on February 11th at the Playhouse Downtown.  This highly requested tribute will feature such hits as Mandy, Copacabana, I Write the Songs, Looks Like We Made It and Can't Smile Without You.
