BroadwayCon has announced initial programming for BroadwayCon Industry Day.

Lyrics for Life has released a recording and music video to Pasek & Paul's You Will Be Found in honor of National Suicide Prevention Week. The video features 140 performers from Broadway, National Tours, TV, Film, singer/songwriters and award-winning dancers, all under the age of 25.

BroadwayCon's Special Guest lineup continues to grow! BroadwayCon has announced Ilana Levine (You're A Good Man Charlie Brown), Julia Murney (Wicked, The Wild Party), and Nic Rouleau (The Book of Mormon, Legally Blonde) have joined the Special Guest lineup for BroadwayCon 2018.

BroadwayCon has announced that Tony Award-winning musical Come From Away joins BroadwayCon 2018. As part of MainStage programming, this Come From Away panel will feature a conversation with the cast and creative team on the journey from Gander to Broadway.

Cartoonist Alison (Kate Shindle) is trying to draw her father Bruce (Robert Petkoff) and to understand why he committed suicide. Currently onstage at the Ahamsnon Theatre through April 1, Fun Home with its emotionally engaging book by Lisa Kron and curiously vibrant music score by Jeanine Tesori, boasts seamless direction from Sam Gold and a wonderfully sensitive cast.

Following an extensive two-year renovation, San Francisco's Curran reopened last night with the groundbreaking Tony Award-winning musical Fun Home. Performances began January 25 (running four weeks through February 19) with an official opening night held last night, January 26. BroadwayWorld has photos from the starry opening festivities below!

There's wiping a tear from your eye during an emotional performance, and then there's mopping up buckets of tears from your shirtsleeve for most of the show. For me, Fun Home was the latter.

Fun Home is a show unlike any other. The one hour and forty minute without an intermission production transports the audience into the life of Alison Bechdel as she looks back on growing up. And hopefully, when it is over, they are changed from taking the journey with her.

I was book shopping a while back and stumbled across the graphic novel FUN HOME by Alison Bechdel. I sat down and read through it, appreciating Bechdel's artistic style, but also thoroughly engaged in the glimpses into her life that filled the pages. The musical version (music by Jeanine Tesori, with book and lyrics by Lisa Kron) definitely captures the essence of Bechdel's work, and that's really important when something is adapted for the stage. The current touring production of this show is playing at the Fox Theatre and I highly recommend this 2015 Tony Award winner.

Producers Fox Theatricals and Barbara Whitman have announced casting for the first National Tour of FUN HOME, the groundbreaking, Tony Award-winning Best Musical. The tour will premiere in St. Louis at the Fabulous Fox Theatre, November 15 - 27, 2016.
