Harvested from over 800 short plays submitted from around the world, Little Fish Theatre uncorks its 17th season of Pick of the Vine on January 10. The audience and critic favorite is a perfectly blended bouquet of nine short plays where audiences will experience Magic Moments, featuring a mix of new and familiar LFT artists.

Help celebrate local playwrights! Now in its seventh year, Island Theatre's Ten-Minute Play Festival features original short plays by Kitsap County Playwrights. Held over an August weekend each year since 2012, these fully-staged performances take place at Bainbridge Performing Arts.

After a three-month submission period and over 400 play submissions from around the world, Sanguine is pleased to announce five finalists for its annual Project Playwright Festival. The audience favorite at the Festival receives a fully-produced premiere of their play in New York City as a part of Sanguine's 2018 season.

The winner of Project Playwright receives a fully-produced world premiere of their play in New York City as a part of Sanguine's 2018 season. Now in its 8th year, Project Playwright promotes the discovery of new and unheard voices, and solidifies Sanguine Theatre Company's commitment to the complete theatrical process, from page to stage.

Ten original plays. Three shows. Two days. Island Theatre presents its Sixth Annual Ten-Minute Play Festival featuring local playwrights at Bainbridge Performing Arts on August 18 and 19. Out of 57 submissions from established and emerging Kitsap County playwrights, ten were selected by a jury of theatre professionals for production by Island Theatre directors and actors: "Bloody Mary" by Aleks Merilo, "Flight of the Valkyrie" by Noah Barfield, "Gel Us" by Paige Zubel, "Jellyfish Apocalypse" by Karen Polinsky, "Lessons Learned" by Jenny Weaver, "Memories of an American Occupation" by Paul Lewis, "Moving On" by Caroline Smith, "Of a Feather" by Wendy Wallace, "Roadsides" by Betsy Dorfman, and "Spreadsheet Me" by Jeffrey Brown.

Portland Shakespeare Project and Proscenium Journal, in association with Artists Repertory Theatre, present the third annual Proscenium Live Festival of New Work. All performances are free and begin at 7:30pm on Artists Rep's Alder Stage.

Playwrights West, a professional theatre company composed of nine acclaimed local playwrights, at Portland State University, proudly presents a World Premiere reading of Last Broadcast, written by Playwrights West and directed by Lava Alapai.

Artists Repertory Theatre awards the Oregon Play Prize to Steve Rathje for his play SIGNS. Rathje is a 21-year-old student at Stanford University and a 2014 graduate of Lake Oswego High School. Rathje is the winner after three finalists were selected from 131 script submissions by 24 readers in a blind-reading format. The three scripts were then voted on by the public through a two-month blind, online voting process. The public cast 2,072 votes to express which play they'd most like to see produced at Artists Rep.
