These Saturday matinee performances begin at 2pm and are perfect for a great afternoon out with the kids. Doors open at 1pm. The plays are here! Florida Studio Theatre's 2013 Young Playwrights Festival has begun. Over 3,000 plays were received from young playwrights all over Florida and across the globe. FST is has announced the winning plays of the UNDER SIX and SEVEN UP programs.
After a laughter-filled hit winter season, FST Improv returns for a special spring fling run of "April Fools." This hilarious series will feature a no fools barred smack down, culminating in the crowning of the "fool of fools." The comedy begins on Saturday, April 13th for a limited engagement continuing Fridays and Saturdays April 19, 20, 26 and 27 at 8:30 pm in the new John C. Court Cabaret.
Deep in the heart of Israel, a city perched on the Mediterranean receives immigrants of all kinds, from Africa to Eurasia. The diversity within the city is immense but assimilating immigrant refugees into the greater culture of Israel presents many challenges. Recently the Jewish Federation of Sarasota-Manatee and FST joined forces to bring a very special program to the children of Kiryat Yam. 'We are all in this together, for the children' was the running theme of the WRITE A PLAY trip to Kiryat Yam, Israel last month.
