Music Theatre of Connecticut (MTC) will be celebrating the grand opening of The New MTC with a gala fundraiser on Saturday, September 27 at 7pm. The gala will take place at The New MTC, located at 509 Westport Avenue in Norwalk (behind Jones New York and Nine West Outlet). All proceeds will benefit MTC and its programming. The cast of the Tony Award-winning musical NEWSIES took their excited final bows at the Nederlander Theatre today to uproarious applause from a packed audience. NEWSIES featured a Tony Award-winning score with music by eight-time Academy Award winner Alan Menken and lyrics by Jack Feldman, with a book by four-time Tony Award winner Harvey Fierstein. Produced by Disney Theatrical Productions, NEWSIES was directed by Tony nominee Jeff Calhoun and choreographed by Christopher Gattelli, who won a 2012 Tony Award for his work. NEWSIES enjoyed almost two and a half years on Broadway.

A second show has been added for Stop the Presses: Newsboys of New York Rally at 54 Below on August 14th. The 11:30pm show was added after the original 7pm show sold out in a matter of hours.

This August and September 54 BELOW presents an exciting lineup of the brightest talent from Broadway and beyond. Located just below the legendary Studio 54 at 254 West 54th Street.

A great, big Broadway season is on its way, with fourteen productions already slated to open in the next few months. Hospitality Queen Susan Buckley and Producing Artistic Director, Jacob Langfelder helped launch the new 14,000 square foot event space 42West in a big way over the weekend with appearances by Tony and Grammy Award-Winner, Billy Porter (Kinky Boots, Billy's Back on Broadway) as well as Elizabeth A. Davis (Once, FairPlay), Robin DeJesus (In The Heights, La Cage Aux Folles), Emmy Award-Winner Lance Horne, DJs Andrew Andrew and Ali Luminescent and Christine Geiger as The Intergalactic Unicorns.

Last Call Theatricals will present a special 75-minute Industry-Only Preview of a new musical, BOYS VS GIRLS, written by Drew Overcash, directed & choreographed by Josh Rhodes (Cinderella) on Tuesday March 25th at 12:30pm and 3:30pm at Pearl Studios (500 Eighth Avenue). The cast will feature Carla Stickler (Wicked, Mamma Mia), Brent Diroma (Jersey Boys, Avenue Q), Billy Harrington Tighe (Pippin, Wicked, La Cage Aux Folles), Adam Kaplan (Newsies) and Merissa Czyz (Hair). William Demaniow will serve as Musical Director.

Jim Caruso's Cast Party, Birdland's 'extreme' open mic, is proud to announce the upcoming MENTOR MONDAYS segment, which takes place on the last Monday of every month. MENTOR MONDAYS pairs up-and-coming singers and composers with established artists to create a featured performance for the historic Birdland stage.
