Jackalope's 9th season continues with the Midwest premiere of Ideation, written byAaron Loeb, directed by Gus Menary*, with the full cast and production team announced below.

Coming this May, TheatreFIRST closes its first season of in-house new works with the world premiere of HeLa by Lauren Gunderson and Geetha Reddy, dramaturgy by Lisa Marie Rollins, and directed by Evren Odcikin.

Playwrights Foundation (PF) Artistic Director Amy Mueller has announced a year-long celebration of its illustrious 40-year legacy discovering and supporting unknown playwrights, who have gone on to become some of the most important contemporary voices of American theater. Featuring nine productions, New Rep's 2017-2018 season includes Ideation, a dark satirical comedy and Boston-area premiere; Oleanna, David Mamet's groundbreaking drama, featuring Johnny Lee Davenport; Man of La Mancha, a revival of the Tony award-winning musical, featuring Maurice Emmanuel Parent; Unveiled, a one-woman show written and performed by Rohina Malik and co-produced with Stoneham Theatre; Statements After an Arrest Under the Immorality Act, and engaging political drama by Athol Fugard; Lonely Planet, an evocative social drama by Steven Dietz; Ripe Frenzy, a site-specific drama and Boston-area premiere; The Bakelite Masterpiece, a riveting historical drama and Boston-area premiere; and Two Jews Walk into a War…, a hilarious existential comedy featuring Jeremiah Kissel.

Dallas Theater Center Artistic Director Kevin Moriarty announced today full details for the 2017-2018 season, including the American love-rock musical Hair, which is celebrating its 50th anniversary; the terror-filled Frankenstein in a new collaboration with Southern Methodist University's Meadows School of the Arts; The Great Society, a follow-up to the smash-hit All the Way and a co-production with Houston's Alley Theatre; and two world-premiere plays, The Trials of Sam Houston and Miller, Mississippi.

When a group of consultants come together to work on a mysterious project, they start to question the endeavor's true goals-and each other. Jackalope Theatre Company wraps up its 8th season with The 7th Annual Living Newspaper Festival. In homage to the 1930's Living Newspapers of the Federal Theatre Project, Jackalope has assembled an exciting group of Chicago playwrights, directors, and actors to dramatize stories ripped from recent newspaper headlines.

City Lights Theater Company is extending the run of its hit rock musical Green Day's American Idiot. While the show was originally set to close Aug. 21, the company has added five performances: at 8 p.m. Wednesday through Saturday, Aug. 24-27; and at 2 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 28.

This summer, City Lights' intimate theater will be bursting with the powerful music and perpetually youthful rage of Green Day's American Idiot. Based on the hit album, this punk-rock musical promises to be even more electric than usual-up close in a 100-seat theater.

Jackalope Theatre Company, under the leadership of Artistic Director Gus Menary and Managing Director Nate Silver, announces its 2016/17 season. The company's 9th season features three productions: a world premiere, a U.S premiere, and a Midwest premiere. The season begins with the U.S premiere of Octagon by Kristiana Rae Colon, directed by Tara Branham, continues with the world premiere of The Snare by Samantha Beach, directed by Jackalope Associated Producer Elana Boulos, and concludes with the Midwest premiere of Ideation by Aaron Loeb, directed by Jackalope Artistic Director Gus Menary.

Playwrights Foundation have  announced the lineup for 39th Annual Bay Area Playwrights Festival (BAPF), which will run July 15-24, 2016 at Custom Made Theatre in the heart of San Francisco's Theater District.
