The consultants in the psychological thriller Ideation have the courage to question the shadowy project they're working on. Victor Frankenstein dares to create a new being. The Calendar Girls are brave enough to pose nude. And then there's Lizzie Borden, who has the courage to ... well, you know.

San Francisco Playhouse continues its thirteenth Mainstage season with West Coast premiere of Andrew Hinderaker's Colossal, directed by Jon Tracy.

59E59 Theaters will wrap up the 2015/2016 5A Season with the NYC premiere of IDEATION, written by Aaron Loeb and directed by Josh Costello. Produced by San Francisco Playhouse, IDEATION begins performances on Saturday, March 5 through Sunday, April 17. Opening Night is Tuesday, March 15 at 7 PM. The performance schedule is Tuesday - Thursday at 7 PM; Friday at 8 PM; Saturday at 2 PM & 8 PM; and Sunday at 3 PM. Please note there is no performance on Saturday, March 6 at 2 PM.  Performances are at 59E59 Theaters (59 East 59th Street, between Park and Madison Avenues). Playwrights Foundation delivers lightning in a bottle with FlashPlays a lively new format of 30 second to 2 minute plays on December 6 & 7, 2015. Over 40 playwrights will create roughly 80 short plays to drive this whirlwind event at the historic Brava Theater in San Francisco. These short works come together forming an artistic mosaic of the here and now, a depiction the world around us in a fun and dynamic format.

San Francisco Playhouse is thrilled to announce that its production of Ideation, which had its world premiere at the Playhouse and won the 2014 prestigious William Glickman playwriting award, will move to New York City, playing Off-Broadway at 59E59 Theaters as part of their 2015-16 5A series. Josh Costello will direct. This is the second consecutive year that a San Francisco Playhouse production has been invited to participate in the 5A series in New York. Last season the Playhouse's commissioned play Bauer by Lauren Gunderson, another world premiere, was a hit at 59E59.
