AIDS Walk Los Angeles is the world's first fundraising event of its kind, and the event continues to keep the public engaged in the HIV/AIDS crisis. Last year, a passionate crowd of 30,000 walkers and 2,500 volunteers raised $3 million for HIV/AIDS prevention, treatment, and advocacy programs. John Davidson, the celebrated television, theater and film actor who starred as Matt in the 1964 Hallmark Hall of Fame version of THE FANTASTICKS and recently performed for a limited engagement in the Off-Broadway production as Henry, The Old Actor, will return to the cast on July 30 in that same role.
Harvey Schmidt, the celebrated composer of The Fantasticks, visited the show for the first time in more than twenty years on Saturday, June 16, 2012. In 1966 the Hallmark Hall of Fame presented a television adaptation of Tom Jones and Harvey Schmidt's Off Broadway musical THE FANTASTICKS. Ricardo Montalban appeared as El Gallo and Bert Lahr and Stanley Holloway were the two fathers. The young lovers were played by Broadway's favorite ingenue, Susan Watson, and a clean-cut young man named John Davidson who had made a strong impression on Broadway audiences as Lahr's son in the musical FOXY.

On Thursday, May 3, 2012 Tom Jones and Harvey Schmidt's romantic musical comedy The Fantasticks will celebrate its 52nd anniversary. The Fantasticks currently stars triple platinum recording artist Aaron Carter as Matt. Television and stage star John Davidson will join the cast as Henry on June 1.
John Davidson, who starred as Matt in the 1964 Hallmark Hall of Fame version of The Fantasticks, will join the cast of the Off-Broadway production of The Fantasticks for a limited engagement in the role of Henry, The Old Actor.
