First Act Productions to Present HAIR at Papermill Theatre, 1/23-26

Nicole Strawbridge, Artistic Director, has announces that First Act Productions will be presenting HAIR: The Tribal Love- Rock Musical, with book and lyrics James Rado and Gerome Ragni, and music by Galt MacDermott. The creative team includes Oscar Moreno (Director) Emma Bartolomucci (Choreographer) and Chris Tsujiuchi (musical director).

Lindsay Posner has returned to the Almeida to direct Rebecca Lenkiewicz' new stage adaptation of Henry James' The Turn of the Screw which runs from 18 January - 16 March 2013, with press night on 24 January. The cast comprises Caroline Bartleet (a woman), Laurence Belcher (Miles), Eoin Geoghegan (a man), Gemma Jones (Mrs. Grose), Anna Madeley (The Governess), Orlando Wells (Sackville) and Isabella Blake, Emilia Jones and Lucy Morton who will alternate the role of Flora. The Turn of the Screw is sponsored by Pinsent Masons LLP. BroadwayWorld has a sneak peek of the rehearsals below.

The Drama League Announces 29th Annual DirectorFest Lineup

The Drama League (Gabriel Shanks, Executive Director; Roger T. Danforth, Artistic Director) has announced full casting for the 29th Annual DirectorFest, a festival of one-act plays staged by the Fall Directing Fellows of The Drama League Directors Project, beginning December 6 - 9 at The Abingdon Theatre Arts Complex, 312 West 36th street (at 8th Avenue).

The Drama League's DIRECTORFEST Comes to Abingdon Theatre Arts Complex, 12/6-9

The Drama League presents the 29th Annual DirectorFest, a festival of one-act plays staged by the Fall Directing Fellows of The Drama League Directors Project, beginning December 6 - 9 at The Abingdon Theatre Arts Complex, 312 West 36th street (at 8th Avenue). The performance schedule will be on Thursday, December 6 at 7:00 PM, Friday, December 7 at 8:00 PM, Saturday, December 8 at 2:00 PM & 8:00 PM and Sunday, December 9 at 3:00 PM.

Lindsay Posner to Direct New Adaptation of THE TURN OF THE SCREW at the Almeida, Jan 18-March 16

Lindsay Posner returns to the Almeida to direct Rebecca Lenkiewicz' new stage adaptation of Henry James' The Turn of the Screw from 18 January - 16 March 2013, with press night on 24 January. Designs are by Peter McKintosh with lighting by Tim Mitchell and sound by John Leonard. Casting for The Turn of the Screw will be announced shortly. The Turn of the Screw is presented in Association with Act Productions Limited, Sonia Friedman Productions and Hammer Theatre of Horror.

Theatre Under The Stars’ LEGALLY BLONDE Begins Tonight, 9/14

Theatre Under The Stars' (TUTS) Humphreys School of Musical Theatre (HSMT) is 'tickled pink to bring the charming hit show Legally Blonde the Musical back to Houston' in conjunction with the 40th anniversary of the award-winning Humphreys School. Legally Blonde the Musical will "bend and snap" at the Hobby Center for the Performing Arts tonight, September 14 - 16, 2012 and feature an all-teen cast made entirely of local high school students.

Miles and Jack must face their uncertain futures…just as soon as they figure out how to survive their chaotic present.

FACT Theatre Company Presents PAGE 2 STAGE, Now thru 5/6

Fact Theatre Company is concluding its third season with their annual PAGE 2 STAGE repertoire. FACT focuses on developing new work and the two shows being presented were developed during their playwright's forums.

TV: Simon Callow in BEING SHAKESPEARE at Chicago Shakespeare Theatre

Simon Callow has brought his highly acclaimed show BEING SHAKESPEARE to the Chicago Shakespeare Theatre at the Broadway Playhouse for a limited engagement through April 29, 2012. Genesis Repertory Moves in to 650-Seat Theatre on 27th Avenue Tonight

The Genesis Repertory company is expanding to utilize two theaters - their studio theater at Bay 44th, which has become an Equity Showcase 99-seat theater when needed; and now a 650-seat theater on 27th Avenue with it's own entrance, private bathrooms, dressing areas, and kitchen/concession to be renovated to accommodate full-scale musical and contract productions.

Legally Blonde The Musical, after playing almost 1000 performances, will close at the Savoy Theatre tonight, Saturday 7 April 2012.

The Actors Studio Drama School at Pace University Announces 2012 Season

The 2012 Actors Studio Drama School Repertory Season performances will take place at The Theater at Dance New Amsterdam, 53 Chambers St., just north of City Hall, Wednesdays through Fridays at 8 p.m. and Saturdays at 3 and 8 p.m. from March 28 through April 28.
