Following the release of their sophomore album St. Mojo, Austin's freak parade Sweet Spirit are hitting the road for a run of dates beginning on September 29 with The Afghan Whigs and Har Mar Superstar at Exit In in Nashville, TN.

The cast is made up of Diane and Hal Brierley Resident Acting Company Members Ace Anderson (Inherit the Wind, Public Works Dallas The Tempest, A Christmas Carol 2016) as Hud and Tiana Kaye Johnson (HOOD: The Robin Hood Musical Adventure, ELECTRA, A CHRISTMAS CAROL 2016) as Sheila. In addition, the cast includes Monique Abry as Crissy, Kia Nicole Boyer as Jeanie, Jaime Cepero (NBC'S SMASH) as Claude, Ayanna Edwards (DREAMGIRLS) as Dionne, Chris Peluso (London's MISS SAIGON, Broadway's WICKED) as Berger and Christopher Llewyn Ramirez (HOOD: The Robin Hood Musical Adventure) as Woof. The Tribe is made up of Kevin Curtis, Joey Donoian, Kelsey Leigh Ervi, Kyle Igneczi, Valton Jackson, Quintin Jones Jr., Laura Lites, Taylor Nash, Mayte Natalio and Gabrielle Reyes (BELLA: An American Tall Tale, Dreamgirls).

The New York Musical Festival (NYMF) has announced the performer lineup for two of their concert events: Women of Note, and How The Light Gets In; and a new panel discussion with Honest Accomplice Theatre, titled Expanding Representations of Gender Identity and Sexuality on Stage.

Two River Theater (Artistic Director John Dias, Managing Director Michael Hurst) presents The Ballad of Little Jo, a musical by Mike Reid(composer, co-bookwriter), Sarah Schlesinger (lyricist, co-bookwriter) and John Dias (co-bookwriter). Dias, the theater's Artistic Director, is also making his Two River directorial debut with this production. The Ballad of Little Jo is based on the film of the same name by Maggie Greenwald. The choreography is by Marc Kimelman, with music direction and dance and incidental arrangements by John O'Neill.

Austin's party-starters Sweet Spirit premieres their ode to MTV's past, with a new video for “The Power” on WXPN. Directed by Ed Dougherty, the video brings a splash of color and excitement into a dreary, black-and-white world. Feel the power for yourself by watching the video here.
