Pinch 'N Ouch Theatre opens its 10-year anniversary season with the Tony Award-winning rock musical, HEDWIG AND THE ANGRY INCH, written by John Cameron Mitchell and music by Stephen Trask. Pinch 'N Ouch Theatre's Producing Artistic Director, Grant McGowen will direct Atlanta native Chad Darnell in the role of 'Hedwig,' an East German genderqueer "internationally ignored song stylist." McGowen most recently directed THIS IS OUR YOUTH, FOOL FOR LOVE and WHO'S AFRAID OF VIRGINIA WOOLF at Pinch 'N' Ouch Theatre. "This show is a beast of a show and I'm so excited to bring her to back to Atlanta," said Darnell who previously played the role at the Bay Street Theatre in Savannah, GA in January 2018.

After highly acclaimed runs of MAMMA MIA! and EVITA, ACT of CT is excited to kick off 2019 with a brand new production of WORKING, the extraordinary musical from Grammy and Academy Award winner and Broadway legend, Stephen Schwartz (WICKED, PIPPIN, GODSPELL). 

Lincoln Center Theater/LCT3 has announced a special event - THROW ME ON THE BURNPILE AND LIGHT ME UP, an 80-minute solo show written and performed by Lucy Alibar and directed by Neel Keller.  BURNPILE will have 3 performances only - Thursday, December 6; Friday, December 7; and Saturday, December 8 - all at 7pm at the Claire Tow Theater (150 West 65 Street).

The 5th Avenue Theatre proudly announces that four writing teams representing womxn, gender non-conforming and non-binary voices have been selected to receive a First Draft Commission (a commission that will support writers solely through the development of the first draft of their script) following the inaugural First Draft: Raise Your Voice Story Summit. The commissioned teams will have one year to complete a first draft of their script with the support of The 5th Avenue Theatre. At the end of the cycle, The 5th will produce a one-week reading with a final presentation in New York City, giving the commissioned teams the opportunity to showcase their work to national industry leaders.

ACT (A Contemporary Theater) of Connecticut is thrilled to announce that 2018 TONY Award winner Lindsay Mendez, recent star of the Broadway revival of Carousel, will join ACT's Resident Music Supervisor, Bryan Perri, on November 30, 2018 in the next performance of the Broadway Unplugged Series!

The Old Globe announces its inaugural New Voices in the Community series: free public performances at libraries across San Diego County, followed by conversations with the playwrights and experts in the community. The first New Voices in the Community features three solo shows by women: Hold These Truths by Jeanne Sakata, "A" Train by Anne Torsiglieri, and Unveiled: A One-Woman Play by Rohina Malik.

Following the sold-out run of "Mamma Mia!," ACT of Connecticut (A Contemporary Theatre) is excited to present the next show in its inaugural schedule. Ridgefield's new state-of-the-art theater will produce the acclaimed Broadway musical EVITA from October 4-28.

With the belief that a city this dynamic deserves a cultural scene that suits its growing vibrancy, Prima's Executive Artistic Producer, Mitch Nugent, set out to create a new home for fresh theatrical experiences in Lancaster.

Final casting for Berkeley Repertory Theatre's upcoming production of Fairview was announced today. Written by Jackie Sibblies Drury, directed bySarah Benson, with choreography by Raja Feather Kelly, the world premiere production comes straight to Berkeley Rep from a critically acclaimed New York run. Previews begin on Thursday, October 4 with regular run of the show opening on Thursday, October 11 and continuing through Sunday, November 4. Tony Award nominee DENIS ARNDT (Heisenberg) has joined the company of the Broadway production of Young Jean Lee's dark comedy, STRAIGHT WHITE MENdirected by Anna D. Shapiro. Mr. Arndt will perform the role of Ed, replacing Tom Skerritt, who has departed the production for personal reasons.

Rick Lombardo, award-winning stage director, artistic director, and adapter, has been appointed director of the Penn State School of Theatre, effective July 1, 2018. He is currently the chair of the Department of Theatre and Performance Studies at Kennesaw State University in Metro Atlanta, where he recently led the initiative to create a summer professional Shakespeare company called Shakespeare Kennesaw, which launches this summer. 

TheatreWorks Silicon Valley kicks off its 2018/19 season with Hold These Truths by Jeanne Sakata, an inspiring true story following Gordon Hirabayashi, a Japanese-American student who fought internment to a relocation camp during World War II. This Northern California premiere celebrates the human spirit as it chronicles Hirabayashi's journey from college in Seattle all the way to the Supreme Court, and eventually to a Congressional Medal of Honor.

EAM Productions is proud to present a workshop of Lauren Weedman's hysterical one-woman show, Lauren Weedman Doesn't Live Here Anymore for two nights only on June 5-6, 2018! Grappling with heartbreak, betrayal, and preschool moms, Lauren turns to her fast-talking, 70's Variety Show host alter-ego, Tammy Lisa, to find some clarity.  As the world comes crashing down around her sky-high hairdo, Tammy Lisa fights back, one rockin' song at a time.
