Entering its fifth season in 2013-14, CONTACT!, the New York Philharmonic's new-music series, is extending its reach by presenting more concerts in new venues including SubCulture - a new arts venue in downtown Manhattan - in partnership with 92nd Street Y, and The Museum of Modern Art. The upcoming season of CONTACT! will feature four concert programs, an expansion over previous seasons. Dedicated to the works of emerging and iconic contemporary composers, CONTACT! in the 2013-14 season will feature works for ensembles of New York Philharmonic musicians as well as programs of solo works performed by Philharmonic musicians and distinguished guests.

The Carlyle, A Rosewood Hotel, has announced that The Rossano Sportiello Trio will debut at the Cafe Carlyle during their two week engagement running June 11 through June 22. The Trio will be performing their program, The Smiling Piano: A Tribute To The Artistry Of Jazz Piano Icon George Shearing.

On Friday, May 17, 2015, choreographers, dancers, and dance enthusiasts-old and young-gathered together at the 92nd Street Y to remember the elegant maverick of modern dance, Pauline Koner. The afternoon featured four reconstructions of Koner's choreography, along with a 1949 video of her dancing To complete the celebration, Koner's students, dancers, music composers, and tour managers spoke briefly about her life and the wisdom she passed down to them.

Tony Award-nominated director Mark Lamos (Cymbeline, Seascape) makes his Lyrics & Lyricists debut revealing the ties between Stratford-on-Avon and Shubert Alley in the 2013 season closer, Brush UpYour Shakespeare: The Bard and the Broadway Musical, on June 1, 2 and 3. Lamos is joined by vocalists Christine Andreas, Daniel Breaker, Britney Coleman, Max Von Essen, and Heather Jane Rolff.

Two-time Tony Award-winning singer/actress Christine Ebersole joined jazz violinist Aaron Weinstein and his trio for Strings Attached, a special late-afternoon performance at 92nd Street Y oyesterday, May 16 at 4 pm. Ebersole and the trio showcased classics standards from the '20s and '30s by Fats Waller ('Jitterbug Waltz'), Cole Porter 'Ev'ry Time We Say Goodbye'), Johnny Mercer ('This Time the Dream's on Me') and George Gershwin ('Shall We Dance'). With a new program of innovative and edgy repertoire, Rebeca Tomas will bring her A Palo Seco Flamenco Company back to Theatre 80 Saint Marks tonight, May 17 to 19 in a new production, 'Cinco Por Cinco.' Tomas, a fierce and feminine NY-based Flamenco artist, will direct her company of five dancers, two singers and three musicians in a show that promises to be true to her vision of upholding Flamenco's traditions while also pushing its boundaries and giving it a distinctive New York City feel.

On Thursday, June 13 (7 + 9 pm) at The Invisible Dog in Brooklyn, choreographer Rebecca Lazier and indie-classical ensemble Newspeak present the first US performances of Coming Together/Attica, a site-specific setting of Frederic Rzewski's iconic minimalist scores written following the 1971 prison riots in upstate New York. Lazier's dancers are Rashaun Mitchell and Silas Riener (formerly of Merce Cunningham Dance Company); Asli Bulbul, most recently from Bill T. Jones/Arnie Zane Dance Company; Jennifer Lafferty, who is featured in the work of Beth Gill and Yasuko Yokoshi; Pierre Guilbault; and Christopher Ralph.
