One of the most well-known and beloved singers of our time, Tony Bennett is an American icon. Join the 92nd Street Y as he sits down with entertainment lawyer Allen Grubman, his friend, for a rare interview on his life and career tonight, May 30, 2013.

Now in his seventh decade of performing, Tony Bennett has worked, sung and recorded with the greatest composers and musicians of several eras, from Count Basie to Lady Gaga, Nat King Cole to John Mayer, Duke Ellington to Amy Winehouse, and Paul McCartney to Bono. His 1962 performance with Dave Brubeck at the White House Seminar American Jazz Concert has become the stuff of legend. Bennett & Brubeck: The White House Sessions, Live 1962, the recently discovered recording of that seminal show, will be released by RPM/Columbia/Legacy this May, just two days before this very special 92Y appearance.

One of only a handful of artists to have new albums chart in the '50s, '60s, '70s, '80s and '90s-and, now, in the first two decades of the 21st century-Tony Bennett has introduced a vast array of songs into the great American songbook that have since become standards of pop music. With 17 Grammys, multiple Emmys and millions of records sold worldwide, his work exemplifies the truth and beauty to be found in the classic art of intimatesinging.
