42nd Street Moon begins its 16th season of uncommon musicals with a gala concert at the Alcazar Theatre on Monday, June 30, 2008. 'You've Got Possibilities!' celebrates the great musicals of the 1960s, and will offer a special 80th birthday salute to the prolific Award-winning composer Charles Strouse, who will be in attendance.

TheatreWorks, the nationally-acclaimed theatre of Silicon Valley, opens its 39th season with the dazzling West Coast Premiere of Snapshots, the latest musical from legendary Broadway (Wicked) and Hollywood (Enchanted) composer Stephen Schwartz.

42nd Street Moon offers a glorious musical salute to lyrical whiz, E. Y. Yip Harburg, with the world premiere of Peddling Rainbows, a revue celebrating Harburg's poetry and songs. It previews May 15 and 16, opens May 17 and runs through May 25.

Cabaret and concert star Andrea Marcovicci brings her own captivating high style to the role of the magnificent and mercurial fashion doyenne, Gabrielle (Coco) Chanel in 42nd Street Moon's upcoming production of Coco. Alan J. Lerner and Andre Previn's musical memory play - unseen anywhere since the early 1970s -- will preview April 24 and 25, open on April 26, and run through May 11.

42nd Street Moon continues its fifteenth season of Uncommon Musicals in Concert with Alameda native Rick Besoyan's riotously funny The Student Gypsy (or 'The Prince of Liederkranz'), the 1963 follow-up to his smash-hit operetta-spoof, Little Mary Sunshine. Maureen McVerry, who made her highly-acclaimed company debut last year in Pardon My English, returns to play the role of gypsy queen Zampa Allescu. The show previews on March 27 & 28, opens on March 29 at 6 pm, and runs through April 13, with a special family matinee on Saturday April 5 @ 1 pm.

Representing the print and electronic media, 21 members of the San Francisco Bay Area Theatre Critics Circle announced the winners of 36 drama awards and 31 musical awards from 243 nominated actors, designers, productions, and more reviewed in 2007. Over 400 productions were seen in 2007 by Circle critics reviewing theatre from San Jose to Santa Rosa, San Francisco to Concord.

The fourth annual San Francisco Theater Festival, a free one-day extravaganza of 75 shows on 10 stages, will take place Sunday, July 22 from 11AM - 5PM at Yerba Buena Gardens.

El Gato Del Diablo Theatre Company presents the World Premiere of THE LEGENDARY AND FABULOUS PASSION PLAY, a new work by Shawn Ferreyra, author of last year's THE RISE AND FALL OF THE MONKEY KING. Set in an underground drag world where legends are made, beauty and dreams triumph over oppression with the help of a misunderstood Messiah who makes the biggest sacrifice for love. Amy Louise Cole will direct.
