BIO

Chabora serves as a performer and master teacher with a focus in performance training at Theatre West Virginia and MSU. In addition, she has maintained a parallel career in professional theatre as an actress, singer, director and choreographer with theatrical credits range from Juliet in "Star-Crossed Lovers" to Miss Julie from Strindberg's "Miss Julie." Chabora is currently in her fourth season with TWV, playing the roles of Sarah McCoy in "Hatfields and McCoys," Delia Morgan in "Honey in the Rock," Mayor Matilda in "All Shook Up," and other roles in the premiere of "Rocket Boys." Her most treasured performance venture has been her portrayal of Emily Dickinson in the one-woman show "The Belle of Amherst," which has toured nationally for the past six years and has just finished a year-long tour with TWV. Chabora also recently worked and trained with Cirque du Soleil as a human personage (cirque clown) in Las Vegas.

There's no place like home-especially for the holidays-and this holiday season, there will be no place like Penobscot Theatre Company. The Wizard of Oz will take audiences over the rainbow, tonight, December 4-28, in a journey comfortably familiar yet delightfully surprising.

Lions and tigers and bears would be a bit much, but how about one lion, one witch, and two little girls? Penobscot Theatre Company is planning to bring some holiday cheer to young patients at Eastern Maine Medical Center, and cast members of its upcoming production of The Wizard of Oz are excited about the opportunity to provide a special preview. Pamela Chabora (The Wicked Witch of the West); Ben Layman (The Cowardly Lion); and the two young actors sharing the role of Dorothy, Bronwyn Beardsley and Molly Hagerty, will visit the pediatric ward in costume, today, November 25, at 3:00 pm.
