Palo Alto Players concludes its 91st season with a new adaptation of William Shakespeare's TWELFTH NIGHT. This classic tale of mistaken identity has been reimagined by local actor and playwright Max Tachis and set against the backdrop of 1920s Coney Island.
When Jack, a New York banker, suddenly shows up at his parents' Cincinnati home in the middle of the night with a sack full of ice cream and no wife, his sister Lorna wants to know what's going on. Where's his socialite wife? Is he home for good? And why is he giving away so much money? Theresa Rebeck's (Bad Dates, Dragon 2011) dark comedy examines the conflict between Main Street and Wall Street, flyover state values versus coastal state values, and the humor within a family in turmoil.
Pear Theatre continues its 2015/2016 season with THE BEARD OF AVON, a brilliant farcical treatment of the Oxfordian theory regarding authorship of Shakespeare's plays.
The Pear Avenue Theatre closes its 13th season on a high note, reprising a show that was one of our biggest hits-the contemporary classic, ARCADIA, by Tom Stoppard. Acclaimed as the greatest play in the English language next to Shakespeare, the play continues to enthrall audiences more than two decades after its opening in 1993. Directed by Pear veteran Jeanie Smith, the production runs tonight, June 19 through July 12, 2015. (No show July 4; added performance July 1)

What if there were a happy pill that could take away all the stresses and strains of life? That's the premise of Rx, the latest play from Kate Fodor (100 Saints You Should Know). Deftly balancing sardonic shots at Big Pharma with a tender love story between a clinical researcher and a patient taking part in a drug trial, Rx is 'a winning combination of light satire and romance.' (NY Times)
