Fashionable and fierce, the ladies of the smash-hit comedy series Designing Women are now live onstage at Horizon in this hilarious and timely new comedy set in Atlanta in fall 2020, Designing Women - 2020:The Big Split.
The Weird Sisters Theatre Project has selected a brand-new team of female artists to continue producing theatre in Atlanta by women, for everyone. In the vein of the company's mission to foster and cultivate opportunities for women in the arts with a commitment to producing works by women for everyone, they are excited to bequeath their power and responsibilities to the next outstanding producing team. Applications were shared in late summer 2019 with the Atlanta arts community and two rounds of interviews were conducted this fall by a conglomerate of founding members and producers from the outgoing team.

After 5 years of critical acclaim and sold-out shows, the original producers/founding members of The Weird Sisters Theatre Project are passing the wand to the next exciting, up-and-coming group of power-house female artists. The producing team that brought you such gems as Anton in Show Business, Five Lesbians Eating a Quiche, Emilie: La Marquise du Chatelet Defends Her Life Tonight, and last summer's world premiere comedy Hot Pink, or Ready to Blow, are stepping down from their roles as producers. In the vein of the company's mission to foster and cultivate opportunities for women in the arts with a commitment to producing works by women for everyone, they are excited to bequeath their power and responsibilities to the next outstanding producing team. Presenters included local favorite performers Denise Arribas, Tiffany Porter, Gina Rickicki, Clifton Guterman, Kevin Harry, Jeremiah Parker Hobbs, Chris Kayser, and Topher Payne.

Pride Films and Plays has announced the results of our LezPlay contest. The judges have named five finalists, including a teleplay and four stage plays. and these writers will have their scripts presented as staged readings during LezPlay Weekend, which runs September 11-13 at the Hoover-Leppen Theatre of Center on Halsted.
