Distilled from more than 500 letters exchanged between Vincent Van Gogh and his brother, Theo. Nimoy’s play honors the legacy of one of the most celebrated artists of the 19th century. Theo defends, justifies, and vindicates his brother’s life and work in this inspiring story of a sibling’s unfailing support and empathy. Written by Leonard Nimoy and Directed by Michael Herring, and Theo/Vincent is performed by Stefan Langer. In-person audiences for all shows, live-streamed July 8th. Intrigue abounds in the comedy-fantasy Shakespeare's Bloody Deed, a world premiere, by Johnrick Hole. Based on an historical incident, the play imagines events involving Shakespeare, Queen Elizabeth, and the Earl of Essex, among others, as Shakespeare and his players attempt to save their theatre. This production will be staged June 6 - 15, at the Abbey Theater of Dublin, 5600 Post Road, Dublin, OH 43017.

Aphra Behn's 1687 comedy is a zany blend of commedia dell'arte, music, and science fiction. Servants and lovers run wild in this play which was hugely successful in the English Restoration Period. Behn's work has been described as "an affordable mini-spectacle," and she is considered one of the great women playwrights in all of classic theatre. Performances are July 20 thru August 6, 2017. Gallery Players' latest play takes big ideas and historical events -- who invented television and how -- and turns them into a very intimate look at two men and their race to make the impossible possible. From the mind of Aaron Sorkin, creator of The West Wing, The Farnsworth Invention is equal parts character study, history lesson (albeit not 100% historically accurate), and moving drama. Premiering tonight, May 2 at 8 pm in the Roth/Resler Theater of the JCC, the play tells the story of the invention of television from the perspective of its inventor, Philo T. Farnsworth, and his rival, RCA president and early radio pioneer, David Sarnoff.

With only a couple dozen productions done in the United States since it was written, MadLab and Shepherd are proud to co-produce this unknown piece. Empire Builders will be performed, at 8:00, Thursdays-Saturdays, tonight, June 13-15 and June 20-22 at MadLab, 227 N. 3rd St. Columbus.
