TIME'S UP Names Lisa Borders President & CEO


TIME'S UP announced Tuesday that Lisa Borders will serve as the first-ever President and CEO of the organization. Launched by a group of women in the entertainment industry on January 1, 2018, TIME'S UP has since grown to other industries and geographies, representing women of all kinds across race, religion, and economic backgrounds.

The Official Selections for the 2018 American Black Film Festival Are Announced


Today, the American Black Film Festival (ABFF) continues its 22-year legacy of providing a platform for diverse storytelling and emerging filmmakers, by announcing the 2018 official selections in all screening categories. The festival returns to Miami Beach, FL from June 13-17. 

Atlanta Ballet to Launch 2013-14 Season with 2-Week China Tour, Begin. 10/29


The 84-year-old company has announced that it will now begin its upcoming season with a two-week tour to China - its first major international tour in more than 10 years.

The Clock is Ticking - Atlanta's Theater of the Stars to Close if $500,000 Not Raised by July 12, 2013; $1 Million by August 30th


Yesterday, we learned that Atlanta's Theater of the Stars had cancelled the July 9 - 14 engagement of Buddy - The Buddy Holly Story at the Fox Theatre. Today we've learned is that the entire theater is in jeopardy if they are unable to raise $1 million dollars by August 30th, with the first $500,000 by July 12th.

On Sunday, August 14th, playwright Lydia R. Diamond, director Kenny Leon & producer Reuben Cannon were toasted on Martha's Vineyard in celebration of the Broadway premiere of Diamond's play STICK FLY, which is set in a Martha's Vineyard mansion. The event took place at the home of investment banker Valerie Mosley who co-hosts with entertainment lawyer Lisa E. Davis, former NASA astronaut and the first African American to walk on the moon Dr. Bernard A. Harris, Jr., former UN Ambassador Andrew Young, journalist Charlayne Hunter-Gault and American human rights advocate Martin Luther King III.
