To commemorate Asian Heritage Month in May, Pan Asian Repertory Theatre will wrap up its 46th milestone season with two noteworthy events.

The Ordway Center for the Performing Arts today announced it is accepting nominations for its 28th Sally Awards, which honor Minnesotans' commitment to the arts and arts education. This year will mark the return of these prestigious awards, which were paused in 2020 and 2021.

Electrifying contemporary dance company TU Dance, known for navigating complex themes of social change with variety and innovation (Star Tribune) and Bon Iver's Justin Vernon, whose rustic chamber pop with an experimental edge (Pitchfork) and hyper-modern balladeering (The Guardian) has garnered Grammy Awards and significant international acclaim, come together in an unprecedented collaboration of local powerhouses. Taking place in the breathtaking and newly restored Palace Theatre in Saint Paul, Thursday Saturday, April 19 21, 2018, this evening-length commission features new music from Vernon as well as new choreography from TU Dance's incredible polyrhythmic genius (Star Tribune) Uri Sands.

InterAct Theatre Company presents Mia Chung's expressionistic and intensely relevant story of two sisters' perilous journey as they flee oppression in North Korea. You for Me for You is a harrowing, poetic, and satirical tale that creates metaphorical context for larger questions of immigration, assimilation, and human connection, casting a light on the culture clash between American values and North Korea's notoriously inscrutable regime.

Greenburger Mainstage will be FINIAN'S RAINBOW, adapted and directed by Irish Rep Artistic Director Charlotte Moore, and starring Melissa Errico ('Billions', Encores! The Ordway will present TU Dance in performance for one night only, tonight, May 10, 2014, in honor of the 10th anniversary of the celebrated St. Paul-based company founded by Toni Pierce-Sands and Uri Sands. This special performance includes Hikari, an Ordway-commissioned world premiere by choreographer Uri Sands in collaboration with master wood block print artist Hiroki Morinoue.

The Ordway Center for the Performing Arts will host the award ceremony for the 2013 Sally Ordway Irvine Awards on Monday, June 9 at 5:30 p.m. For the first time in the 21-year history of the awards, the public will be invited to attend. There is no admission charge, but guests are asked to register online for free passes at www.ordway.org/sallyawards.

The Concert Hall will replace the existing 306-seat McKnight Theatre. The groundbreaking is the culmination of a dream that began in 2011. Hard demolition of the McKnight Theatre will begin in July.
