With Christmas around the corner, Nottingham Playhouse is getting set for the return of the city's favourite outlaw in Robin Hood and the Babes in the Wood, directed and written by Kenneth Alan Taylor.

NOTTINGHAM PLAYHOUSE has unveiled its autumn and winter season for 2018, following rave reviews for its spring and summer line-up.

Phil Daniels will lead the company in the titular role of Robert Louis Stevenson's Dr Jekyll & Mr Hyde at the King's Theatre Edinburgh, Tuesday 10 - Saturday 14 April 2018, in this new production, adapted by David Edgar and directed by Kate Saxon.

Nottingham Playhouse's Autumn/Winter season of work on its main stage begins with the return of the critically acclaimed The Kite Runner, straight from two West End runs. First produced by Nottingham Playhouse and the Liverpool Everyman and Playhouse in 2013, The Kite Runner returns to its Nottingham home before embarking on a UK tour.

A marathon night of drink, debauchery and duplicity develops after Martha and her husband George invite unsuspecting young couple, Nick and Honey, round for a nightcap. Drink flows, spiked with vicious humour, acerbic wit and tempestuous verbal sparring. However, as night turns to morning, searing secrets are exposed.

Joining the ever warring but hopelessly in love pair are Robin Kingsland as Victor, Olivia Onyehara as Sybil and Christine Absalom as the maid.

Desperate Measures, a freewheeling new musical based on Shakespeare's Measure for Measure, is set in London in the 'swinging sixties' against a backdrop of starchy middle class morality and hypocrisy in a country on the verge of Beatlemania and the sexual and social permissiveness that we know today.

ROMEO & JULIET by William Shakespeare is currently in previews for an opening tomorrow, 23 September, at Sheffield Theatres' Crucible Theatre. The production, starring Freddie Fox and Morfydd Clark in the title roles, runs through 17 October 2015, directed by Jonathan Humphreys. Humphreys directs Scott Arthur (Benvolio), Charlie Bate (Pastor), Morfydd Clark (Juliet), Joanna Croll (Lady Montague/Sister), Freddie Fox (Romeo), Michael Hodgson (Capulet), Jonny Holden (Tybalt), Hugh John (The Prince), Robin Kingsland (Montague), Andrew Leung (Paris/Abram), Rachel Lumberg (The Nurse), Simon Manyonder (Mercutio),Shaun Mason (Sampson/Capitan), Joshua Miles (Peter/Gregory/Balthasar) and Natalie Thomas (Lady Capulet). The production opens on 23 September, with previews from 17 September, and runs until 17 October.
