Celebrated more and more with every passing year, the medium of photography continues to amaze, provoke, reveal, and compel. This spring the arrival of a major photography fair in New York City offers an opportunity to see the very best photographs from around the world.

Colorado Music Festival will present its 2023 summer concert season from June 29 through August 6 at Chautauqua Auditorium (900 Baseline Rd., Boulder, Colo.), offering 20 diverse performances of orchestral and chamber music by the Colorado Music Festival Orchestra and guest artists, alongside educational programming.

The distinguished clarinetist Charles Neidich, 1985 Naumburg Competition winner, will be performing live with noted pianist Mohamed Shams at Weill Recital Hall at Carnegie Hall under the aegis of the Walter W. Naumburg Foundation on Monday evening, January 30, 2023, 7:30 p.m. as part of the Naumburg Looks Back Series.

Dinnerstein, who is heralded for her distinctive musical voice and her commitment to sharing classical music with everyone, will perform a program with violinist Tim Fain that includes Suite from The Hours and Pendulum by Philip Glass, as well as Beethoven's “Kreutzer” Sonata.

The Philly POPS announced today that the 2022 kick-off of its popular Salute Series, Comcast NBCUniversal Memorial Salute, will take the stage on May 27, 2022 at 7 p.m at the Mann Center for the Performing Arts. Registration for military, veteran, police, firefighter, first responder, and frontline worker communities and their families will be available soon through affiliated bases and organizations. On Friday, June 3, 2022, violinist Itamar Zorman will release a new album Violin Odyssey on First Hand Records. Born out of Zorman's 2020 live-streamed video series Hidden Gems, the album is a virtual voyage around the world that yielded the discovery of many lesser known and rarely played works for violin.

The Colorado Music Festival (CMF) in Boulder, Colorado, isn't broadly known outside the state, but it should be. This summer, under the leadership of the recently arrived Music Director Peter Oundjian, the Festival will actually present more 21st-century pieces (16, including two world premieres) than works by Beethoven (13). That reflects Oundjian's commitment to presenting the work of living composers as well as music by masters of the canon. This is the first year of the Festival's five-year commitment to commissioning new works and presenting them in Boulder.

Jon Robertson, dean of Lynn University Conservatory of Music and Philharmonia guest conductor, today invited fans of classical music to 18 performances during March and April, including a three-show presentation of the Lerner & Loewe hit musical Gigi.

The Cleveland Institute of Music announced yesterday that acclaimed conductor, composer and educator Michael Tilson Thomas will be awarded an honorary doctorate at the school's 95th Commencement Ceremony in Kulas Hall on Saturday, May 16 at 10am EDT. Attendance is by invitation only, but a live stream will be available via cim.edu. Yesterday's announcement was given at a special MTT-led rehearsal of the CIM Orchestra at Severance Hall, home of The Cleveland Orchestra, which MTT also conducts February 20-23.

Letizia Gambi's music is a combination of her Italian-Neapolitan roots with the heritage of Black American Jazz. It is a 'cultural fusion', her January 29, 2020 performance at Blues Alley will feature a veritable 'United Nations' of jazz musicians.

Pianist Stephen Hough's album Brahms: The Final Piano Pieces explores the composer's last four sets of piano miniatures—the Fantasias, Op. 116; Intermezzos, Op. 117; and Clavierstücke, Op. 118 & 119. The recording, Mr. Hough's sixth all-Brahms album, is released digitally and on disc by Hyperion Records on Friday, January 3. Pegasus: The Orchestra will make their Merkin Hall debut on Saturday, November 23rd at 8pm led by conductor Karén! Hakobyan. Glenn Dicterow, the legendary former concertmaster of New York Philharmonic, will join Pegasus concertmaster Eiko Kano for Bach's Double Violin Concerto. Opening the program will be the world premiere of Hakobyan's Contempo: Bach Recombinant and to close, Tchaikovsky's beloved Serenade for Strings. 

Each season An die Musik (oboe, string trio, and piano), co-founded in 1976 by pianist Constance Emmerich, returns to an enthusiastic and overflowing crowd at Merkin Hall to perform with imagination, brilliance, and warmth. This year's only New York concert takes place on Sunday afternoon, November 10, 2019, 4 pm at Merkin Concert Hall, Kaufman Music Center, 129 West 67th Street, New York, NY. The artists performing this fall with An die Musik will be Mark Peskanov, violin; Nicholas Mann, viola; Robert Ingliss, oboe; Thomas Demenga, cello; and Constance Emmerich, piano.
