Five Titles Announced For The Actors' Fund's New Works Virtual Festival

From Sunday October 25th to Saturday the 31st, the New Works Virtual Festival will stream video readings of 20 new scripts featuring the work of a diverse group of writers and all-star cast members.

Twenty-five years ago, Shirley MacLaine and Richard Pryor were onstage together when they were inducted into the Comedy Hall of Fame, honoring them for their Lifetime Achievements on Stage, Television, and Film. On October 17, 2019, Richard Pryor Jr. and Shirley MacLaine's daughter, Sachi Parker, will be on stage together, costarring in a staged reading of 'THE INTERRUPTED JOURNEY' at the Actors Temple Theatre, NYC.

THE INTERRUPTED JOURNEY Comes to Theater For The New City

Twenty five years ago this month,, Shirley MacLaine and Richard Pryor shared a stage when they were inducted into the Comedy Hall Of Fame. Now, a quarter of a century later, Shirley MacLaine's daughter, Sachi Parker, and Richard Pryor Jr. will be sharing the stage at the Theater For The New City in NYC. Parker and Pryor Jr. will be playing Betty and Barney Hill, an inter-racial couple who were abducted by aliens from another planet and brought on board a UFO where they were examined.

Richard Pryor Jr. Will Receive Illuminator Award

Illuminator Award recipient, author/celebrity, Richard Pryor Jr. will be reading excerpts and answering questions from his highly acclaimed book 'In a Pryor Life.' and is available for interviews anytime between now and then. The newly released book is a powerful account of a life of abuse and abuses and how he survived to tell his inspirational tale.  The award is presented to an individual who educates and enlightens the public about a complex issue and in doing so inspires positive change.

On Thursday, May 2nd, Richard Pryor Jr. offered fans, friends and some of his farther's co-stars a glimpse into the life of his iconic parent, Richard Pryor Senior, discussing his own self-proclaimed 'Freakish Life' that paralleled his namesake and famous father's life in many ways, found in his new memoir. In A Pryor Life, already in its second printing only days after its release. The event began with the unveiling of a costume worn by Richard Pryor Jr in the film "College Debt" co-starring Lucille Ball's granddaughter, Katherine Luckinbill, Janet Carroll and Academy Award winner, Celeste Holmes, in what would be her last film. The costume will be included in the museum's upcoming Real to Reel: Perceptions and Portrayals of LGBTQ History in Film and Television.
