Photo Flash: Broadway Stars Shine at NIGHT AT THE PIER Gala


Over 800 guests gathered on May 6, 2019 at Pier Sixty in New York to celebrate Family Equality Council's 10th Annual Night at the Pier Gala. Attendees enjoyed a night of entertainment and moving stories, and raised close to $1 million for Family Equality Council's critical work on behalf of LGBTQ families.

Will Roland Heads Cast Of Benefit Reading Of LOVE LETTERS


Will Roland (Broadway's 'Dear Evan Hansen') will head a cast of four in an innovative reading of 'Love Letters' by A.R. Gurney on December 9 at Feinstein's/54 Below.  The reading is organized by Getting Together for Good, a charitable giving circle, to benefit the Ric Swezey Memorial Library, a program of The Family Equality Council, which supports and protects LGBTQ families through education, advocacy, and legal initiatives.

Family Equality Council, the nation's leading organization for LGBTQ families and those who wish to form them, is delighted to announce the honorees for the 2018 Night at the Pier Gala, to be held at Pier Sixty, Chelsea Piers in New York on May 7.

Ric Swezey Memorial Raises Over $500,000 for Family Equality Council


On June 3 of this year, Ric Swezey, beloved husband of Nick Scandalios and father to Kate and Luke, passed away following a tragic accident. That day, a family lost a father, and Family Equality Council lost one of our dearest friends. To honor Ric's life and to reflect their tireless advocacy for other LGBTQ families, Nick Scandalios asked Family Equality Council to accept donations to honor Ric's memory.

Last night at the Waldorf-Astoria, Bette Midler hosted Hulaween 2010, her annual gala to benefit the New York Restoration Project. This year's event honored Senator John Kerry and featured a special performance by Paul Simon, a costume contest judged by Michael Kors and a live auction with Judy Gold. New York Restoration Project (NYRP) is a non-profit organization dedicated to reclaiming and restoring New York City parks, community gardens and open space. In partnership with the City of New York, NYRP is also leading MillionTreesNYC - an initiative to plant and care for one million new trees throughout New York City's five boroughs by 2017.
