Stages Theatre Company is invitinsg audiences to enter a world of pure imagination with Roald Dahl's Willy Wonka. Based on the Book 'Charlie and The Chocolate Factory' by Roald Dahl, the scrumptious musical follows the adventures of Charlie Bucket and the other Golden Ticket holders through Willy Wonka's whimsical and mysterious Chocolate Factory filled with Oompa-Loompa, fun, candy and magic around every corner. Featuring the enchanting songs from the 1971 film, and new songs by Leslie Bricusse and Anthony Newley, the sweet musical adaption of Roald Dahl's timeless story comes to life on our mainstage June 28 through August 4.

Theater Latte Da hosts the National Alliance for Musical Theatre (NAMT)'s New Work Roundtable from Thursday, July 19 - Friday, July 20 as part of this year's NEXT Festival.

Theater Latte Da (TLD) announces the slate of artists and projects for this year's NEXT Festival. Four dynamic new works from Angelica Cheri and Ross Baum, Jelloslave cellists Michelle Kinney and Jacqueline Ultar, Michael Gruber, Harrison David Rivers, Nikki Swoboda, Ryan Underbakke and Matt Spring, and Max Wojtanowicz will each receive workshops and public readings beginning Sunday, July 15. The NEXT Festival is part of TLD's NEXT 20/20, a robust new work initiative aimed at developing 20 new musicals or plays-with-music by 2020, shepherding many of them to full production. Past NEXT Festivals have offered audiences a first look at new musicals that have gone on to full production including C. (2015) and Five Points (2018).

Stages Theatre Company's 2017-2018 season continues with the uplifting Whoever You Are, based on the bestseller by award-winning children's author Mem Fox with illustrations by Leslie Staub. Weaving a colorful tapestry of contemporary world music, dance, culture and celebration from countries around the globe, Whoever You Are illuminates the common threads we all share despite our many differences.

When the cold weather sets in, however, it is Frederick who has stored up something significant to survive the long, blustery winter. The Caldecott-winning book by beloved author Leo Lionni has been charming readers for 50 years. Adapted by Suzanne Maynard Miller, with music and lyrics by Sarah Durkee and Paul Jacobs and directed by Marilee Mahler, this award-winning adaptation, featuring a roots-flavored country and folk-infused score, will delight the heart and tickle the imagination.

???????Twin Cities actor and playwright Max Wojtanowicz will tour his highly-acclaimed original musical Ball: A Musical Tribute To My Lost Testicle to the Underground Theatre in Duluth, MN.

When Rice, MN, native Max Wojtanowicz was diagnosed with stage 3 testicular cancer in January 2016, a friend told him to 'conquer it, and then sing about it.' He accepted that challenge. Through storytelling and original songs about chemotherapy, community, and courage, Ball is a show about laughing (and singing) in the face of darkness when life throws you a curve… ball. Wojtanowicz's first solo performance effort is his fourth original musical with director Nikki Swoboda, in collaboration with composers Michael Gruber, Jason Hansen, and Andrew Cooke. Jerry Rubino will join Wojtanowicz at the piano.

Join us as we welcome Spookley the Square Pumpkin and his friends to Stages Theatre Company! Spookley the Square Pumpkin is teased by the other pumpkins because of his odd shape. His new friends - three hilarious spiders named Edgar, Allan and Poe - try to convince Spookley that square or not, he has a right to be the Pick of the Patch on Halloween. Spookley isn't sure he has what it takes until a mighty storm threatens to destroy the entire patch, sending the round pumpkins rolling towards the raging river. Stages Theatre Company (STC) had a special visitor on Wednesday, May 11th. Popular children's book author Lisa McCourt attended the 10am performance of her very first page-to-stage adaptation: STC's world premiere of I LOVE YOU, STINKY FACE. This heart-warming new musical, on stage thru Sunday May 15th, was adapted for the stage by Jeannine Coulombe who also wrote the lyrics and features music by twin cities favorite Michael Gruber.
