Melinda Hall BIO

Melinda Hall is a writer, director, actor and producer. Her production company, Willful Pictures produces the online web series HOW SHAKESPEARE CHANGED MY LIFE starring Sir Ben Kingsley, Liev Schreiber, James Earl Jones, Richard Thomas, Stacy Keach, and the late Ray Bradbury among others. She created & produces the Annual Shakespeare's Birthday Sonnet Slam at the Naumburg Bandshell in Central Park that features 154 Readers of all ages performing all 154 Shakespearean Sonnets. @sonnetslam
Stage directing credits include: Phaedra, Macbeth, and Penguin Blues among others. She is the Shakespeare Moderator for the SAG-AFTRA Conservatory and she coaches actors for film and theater auditions. Melinda is currently a Reader at the Folger Shakespeare Library and at the Wertheim Study NYPL. She received her BA in Theater at UT Dallas and studied at the National Shakespeare Conservatory in NY and is a proud, continuing autodidact. She is a member of SAG-AFTRA, AEA, and THE DRAMATIST GUILD.

The 13th Annual Shakespeare's Birthday Sonnet Slam will be held Saturday, April 22nd from 1-4pm at the 9th floor Lounge at the Riverside Church in the Morningside Heights neighborhood of Manhattan.

Amaterasu Za is presenting Chushingura - 47 Ronin, adapted and directed by Ako Dachs, it will be performed mainly in Japanese with English subtitles.  Chushingura - 47 Ronin, which has begun performances, will officially open on October 23, 2022, at the A.R.T./New York Mezzanine Theater.
