Tonight, April 28, 2014, The New York Pops marks its 31st birthday with a grand gala evening celebrating the work of composer, lyricist, and arranger Marc Shaiman and director, lyricist, and writer Scott Wittman, as well as the leadership and mentorship work of corporate honoree Paul J. Massey, Jr., CEO and Founding Partner of Massey Knakal Realty Services. Gala Co-Chairs include Neil Heilberg, Todd Korren, William C. Montana, and James A. Read. Serving as Honorary Co-Chairs for the event are stars Matthew Broderick, Debra Messing, and Sarah Jessica Parker. The event will also feature Broadway Inspirational Voices, Ronald McDonald House® Rockin' the House Band and Singers, Camp Broadway Kids, and The New York Pops Kids On Stage Students. Following the concert, a black tie dinner dance will be held at the elegant Mandarin Oriental New York. On the heels of the recent passing of Minnesota's marriage equality bill, Artistic Director of NewBridge Theatre Company, Elizabeth Tanner, decided it was time to bring a fresh take on the world's longest running musical, The Fantasticks.

The Fantasticks begins performances tomorrow, September 20th through 22nd and continues September 26th through September 29th at it's space located at 105 2nd Street E Hastings, MN 55033. Tickets range from $15 to $20 and may be purchased online at www.newbridgetc.com or by calling 651-295-3224.

The Camp Broadway Kids, which is comprised of 58 theatre-loving kids, ages 12-16, are set to perform in the New York Pops 29th Birthday Gala titled 'Journey On' at Carnegie Hall on Monday, April 30. Under the direction of Camp Broadway's Artistic Director,Tony Parise (Broadway credits include Me and My Girl and 42nd Street), the cast, which was selected from a nation-wide pool of over 500 auditionees, will perform alongside Broadway stars during musical numbers honoring the work of Lynn Ahrens and Stephen Flaherty, the Tony Award-winning and Oscar-nominated songwriting team of such renowned Broadway musicals as Ragtime, Once On This Island, Seussical, My Favorite Year, A Man of No Importance, The Glorious Ones and the feature film Anastasia.

Following 5 weeks of national auditions, CAMP BROADWAY®, the award-winning theater arts education company has announced its cast of 132 theatre-loving kids, ages 12-16, to perform in the 85th Anniversary Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade®. The talented performers will appear on the ZhuZhu Pets®Zhu-niversefloat and perform an original song on the national broadcast of the parade on Thanksgiving morning, November 24.
