Maxime Quiroga will join the cast of the Mozart and Salieri when it returns by popular demand to the Artscape Opera House stage on 24 August for a limited season. Quiroga joins a stellar Cape Town City Ballet cast lead by Martin Milner as Mozart, Daniel Szybkowski and Ivan Boonzaier as Salieri and ballerinas Laura Bosenberg and Mariette Opperman as Constanze.

After a hugely successful premiere season in February this year, Mozart & Salieri returns to the Artscape Opera House by popular demand from 24 August to 1 September 2018. The sumptuous adaptation of Alexander Puskin's short story, choreographed by Marc Goldberg, will once again be presented by Cape Town City Ballet (CTCB), for only six performances. The two act production drips in glamour, intrigue and innovation with ground-breaking digitized set design, exquisite costuming and powerful dancing, all set to Mozart's celebrated compositions.

In 1999, Ian Bell's Brown Derby Series began with a one-night-only 'Ridiculously Staged Reading the iconic screenplay VALLEY of the DOLLS. Over the past 19 years, The Brown Derby Series has taken its place as a Seattle comedy institution with a dedicated cult following. Under-rehearsed and equipped with cardboard props and plenty of silly string, Director Ian Bell continues to team up with Seattle's funniest actors to put their warped spin on classic Hollywood screenplays.

Rising young stars of the Cape Town City Ballet are set to take centre stage in the classic and comic ballet, COPPELIA, at Artscape in Cape Town. Based on the well-known tale by E.T.A. Hoffmann, this sparkling production of the beloved ballet has a short run at the end of May.

Cape Town City Ballet is nothing if not ambitious. SHADES OF LOVE sees the company's featured artists dancing superbly, but the production never coheres into a fully-realised evening of ballet.

A reboot of the 1967 classic THE VALLEY OF THE DOLLS may be in the works at 20th Century Fox.

The LA Times reports that Martin Milner, perhaps best known as the star of TV's 'Route 66' and 'Adam-12,' died Sunday at his home in Carlsbad. He was 83.
