Maggie Alexander Biography

Maggie grew up in the mountains outside of Boulder, CO. She has dual citizenship with the US and the UK. She went to UC Santa Barbara, where she received her Acting BFA and minored in Philosophy. (And yes, that is the educational combo one pursues when looking to guarantee their future financial stability.)

When not on set, Maggie loves to be hiking, horseback riding, camping, or trail running, all preferably with her dog, whom she may love an inappropriate amount. Maggie is into the fitness thing. She is a personal trainer, fitness model, has done 3 Tough Mudders, numerous half marathons, a couple triathlons, and is pretty strong (no, not 'strong for a girl,' just strong).

Directed by John DeSotelle, Nuance Theatre Co. brings John Patrick Shanley's DANNY AND THE DEEP BLUE SEA to the Nubox - an intimate blackbox theater in the heart of Hell's Kitchen where (in my experience) theatrical magic always happens. Presented as an Equity stage production, DeSotelle brings two incredibly talented actors to the stage for a limited two-week run.

Intimacy And Danger Explode On Stage In DANNY AND THE DEEP BLUE SEA Photo Intimacy And Danger Explode On Stage In DANNY AND THE DEEP BLUE SEA
by A.A. Cristi - Dec 5, 2019

A powerful story of two strangers (Roberta and Danny) a?" and their fateful meeting in a cheerless dive bar in the Bronx.  What begins as a distrustful and antagonistic conversation eventually unleashes an unlikely connection, as the two prod and wrangle through their animosity and loneliness as in an a?oeapache dancea?? (a violent dance for two), towards a painfully achieved exoneration, finding absolution in each other and hope of a future beyond hostility, overwhelming guilt and shame.

BWW Review: The Lessons of Love and Loss is Nuance Theatre Co's RABBIT HOLE Photo BWW Review: The Lessons of Love and Loss is Nuance Theatre Co's RABBIT HOLE
by Kristen Morale - Jun 18, 2019

Rabbit Hole, written by David Lindsay-Abaire, tells the story of a mother and father stricken with unending grief after the accidental death of their four year old son; theirs is a reality that isn't fair or deserved, but must simply be dealt with. With this play,Lindsay-Abaire carefully deconstructs the overall larger picture of 'grief' into smaller moments, bringing to light how each of those involved finds solace in their own way. And as emotional a ride Rabbit Hole brings the audience on, we somehow begin to understand how people cope with something that can never be explained - only accepted until the pain isn't as great as it used to be.
