First Annual YIDDISHFEST Announces Lineup of Artists

An initial roster of artists and performers have been announced for the inaugural YI Love New York YiddishFest. Produced by the Yiddishkayt Initiative (YI) (Avi Hoffman, Producing Artistic Director) and Theater for the New City (Crystal Field, Artistic Director), the nine-day festival celebrates the legacy of the Yiddish language and its impact on entertainment and culture with readings, concerts, film screenings, lectures, panel discussions, and famous personalities in the world of Jewish culture from December 21-29. On Tuesday, March 20, Boca Grove Golf and Tennis Club, a premier golf club in Boca Raton, Florida, welcomed back recent recipient of the Fred Ebb Award and Tony Award Nominee, Jeff Blumenkrantz and his fellow Broadway actor, Laura Patinkin. The two performers showcased their talents for a crowd of more than 200 Boca Grove members and guests. The intimate, two person show featured a number of beloved Broadway standards from shows such as 'Sound of Music,' 'West Side Story,' 'Gypsy,' 'Cabaret' and more. They also performed a handful of Blumenkrantz's original songs.
