Palm Springs International Comedy Festival launches on October 11 with over 200 streaming films, over 180 comedians, over 75 celebrities.

Seacoast Sessions Presents Russ Grazier, Jazz Saxophonist


New Hampshire Theatre Project's third Seacoast Sessions will feature jazz saxophonist Russ Grazier, accompanied by Jim Dozet on guitar. Hosted by Kathleen Somssich of WSCA Radio. Seacoast Sessions honors seacoast performers who have regional, national and international reputations and offers audiences a rare opportunity to see and hear master performing artists in an intimate setting with excellent acoustics, and to learn about their professional histories and how they mastered their craft. Seacoast audiences will be especially interested in learning how Russ Grazier turned his passion for music into the highly successful Portsmouth Music & Arts Center.

The Arthur Newman Theatre Announces New Season


The Arthur Newman Theatre at the Joslyn Senior Center in Palm Desert is set to reopen under the artistic direction of CLago Productions. A season of five shows has been announced beginning September 20 and running through December 9 of this year.

BWW Review: DINNER AT FIVE at Indian Wells Theatre


Writer Lloyd J. Schwarz, a veteran of such television comedies as The Brady Bunch and Gilligan's Island, has scribed a new stage comedy called Dinner at Five which has just commenced a five-week run in Palm Desert. Starring four familiar faces from 70's and 80's television, experiencing the play is a bit of a time warp, but much like Televisionland, it wafts us back to a gentler time, and provides an enjoyable evening out.

The Off-Broadway smash RUTHLESS! THE MUSICAL will conclude its triumphant 14-month run tomorrow (Saturday) at St. Luke's Theatre, 308 West 46 Street (just west of Eighth Ave.) RUTHLESS! opened July 13, 2015 to unanimous rave reviews led by Entertainment Weekly which called the show, "Uproarious! A mash-up of THE BAD SEED, GYPSY, ALL ABOUT EVE, plus the films of Douglas Sirk and John Waters!" Just some of the celebrities spotted in the audience have included Ron Howard, Regis & Joy Philbin, Bernadette Peters, Lynn Cohen, Chelsie Hightower, Mario Cantone, Dmitry Chaplin, Laura Bell Bundy, Barbara Eden, Jan Maxwell, Legacy, Larry Thomas (The Soup Nazi), Jackie Hoffman, Sierra Boggess, and Dame Gillian Lynne. The original cast recording, produced by Robert Sher, is set for release this fall.

Freestyle Releasing and Freestyle Digital Media (FDM) announced today that they have acquired theatrical and all DVD/VOD rights to 108 STITCHES, the baseball comedy from writer/director David Rountree and co-writer Jake Katofsky. The film features Josh Blue ('Last Comic Standing' winner), Dat Phan ('Last Comic Standing' winner), Erin Cahill (POWER RANGERS), Larry Thomas ('Seinfeld's' Soup Nazi) and Bruce Davison (X-MEN), with a special appearance by baseball legend Roger Clemens. 108 STITCHES was co-written and produced by Jake Katofsky, with producers that also include Jeff Katofsky and J.P.
