Barrel of Monkeys invites you to join student-authors, their classmates, families and educators for the annual CELEBRATION OF AUTHORS, featuring performances of student-written stories created at each of its partner schools and after-school program during the 2017-18 season. Barrel of Monkeys celebrates its 20th anniversary of arts education in Chicago Public Schools with a special one-night-only event: KIDS WRITE IT: 20 YEARS OF INTERGENERATIONAL STORYTELLING, featuring student-written stories from each of its 20 years, performed by the company's talented team of actor-educators, directed by Artistic Director Joseph Schupbach and co-directed by Co-Founder/Former Artistic Director Halena Kays. KIDS WRITE IT will be held on Thursday, July 27 at 7:30 pm at The Athenaeum Theatre Main Stage, 2936 N. The hilarious holiday cavalcade runs November 19 through December 27, with direction by Stage 773 Creative Director Brian Posen and choreography by Matter Dance. This family-friendly, interactive show features familiar Christmas carols, original musical numbers, dance, sketch comedy, puppets and everything in between.

Stage 773, 1225 W. Belmont, presents THE holiday show of the season, It's a Wonderful Santaland Miracle, Nut Cracking Christmas Story... Jews Welcome!, running November 14 through December 28 with a press opening Sunday, November 16 at 3 p.m. Directed by Stage 773 Creative Director Brian Posen with choreography by Matter Dance, this family-friendly, interactive show features original Christmas carols, dance numbers, spoken word, puppets and everything in between. Stage 773 puts their own twist on the traditional holiday show, packing the world's most beloved stories and traditions into one extravagant cavalcade. To heighten the holiday spirit, both cookies and non-holiday-specific eggnog will be served. Additionally, Stage 773 will serve as a drop-off site for the Greater Chicago Food Depository throughout the run of the production.
