The event will take place the night before the Golden Globes and will be co-chaired by Evangelo Bousis, Rooney Mara and Joaquin Phoenix. According to Michael Muller, HEAVEN is Connection. The same night, Beau Dunn will be honored with the 2019 SPIRIT OF ELYSIUM award for her generous support over the years. The charity is thrilled to have Peter Dundas for DUNDAS grace the runway with the unveiling of his latest collection. Dundas will debut his latest collection in an elaborate fashion show, featuring the make-up design of Charlotte Tilbury. The evening will include unique costume design by Johnny Wujek, surprise musical guests, and mentalist, Oz Pearlman, as the Master of Ceremonies. Shirley Chung will serve as HEAVEN 2019's celebrity Chef.

Louis Scaglione, President and Music Director of Philadelphia Youth Orchestra (PYO), is pleased to announce the appointment of Kevin Gifford as the new Development Director of Philadelphia Youth Orchestra.  A Philadelphia-based arts administrator and fundraising professional, Gifford has had a life-long passion for orchestral music, education, and performance. Prior to joining PYO, Kevin held development posts for various Philadelphia arts organizations including Opera Philadelphia, Greater Philadelphia Cultural Alliance, Dancing Classrooms Philly, and the Black Pearl Chamber Orchestra. Additionally, he assists multiple ensembles with production and event management including Tempesta Di Mare, Mendelssohn Club of Philadelphia, and Piffaro, The Renaissance Band.

It's always nice to revisit a show and see a 100% improvement. Such is the case with the rewritten spoof A Big Gay North Hollywood Wedding at Crown City Theatre, which opened May 15 for an extended run, at least throughout the summer. The first time around - 2009 - (review below) I noticed a lot of missed opportunities for big laughs. With an exceedingly strong cast and a really sturdy ending which puts the whole issue of being gay centerstage in a totally positive way, this new version hits the top.

Although a work of fiction, DOCTOR ANONYMOUS was inspired by a watershed moment in LGBT history when Dr. John E. Fryer, wearing a mask and using a voice-distorting microphone, declared himself a homosexual in front of the American Psychiatric Association's 1972 convention - leading to the decision to de-list homosexuality as a mental illness.
