Morning View Films is proud to announce the World Premiere of the new comedy, LONGHORNS on June 25, 2011 at the majestic Castro Theatre, as part of Frameline 35, San Francisco International LGBT Film Festival. Written and directed by David Lewis (Rock Haven, Redwoods) the Eighties-themed comedy chronicles the risqué and frisky adventures of Kevin (newcomer Jacob Newton), a good ol' straight boy who finds creative ways to indulge in some quality "male bonding" with his fellow peers. When he meets the openly gay Cesar (Derek Villanueva of "Fabulous High," Little Love) deeper emotions are triggered, causing a chain of events sure to set the Texas hill country ablaze with sexual hi-jinks! To celebrate this exciting announcement, the creative team is releasing the official poster for LONGHORNS at it's official website: www.Longhornsmovie.com

Full program and tickets for Frameline 35 will be unveiled the afternoon of May 24, 2011 at www.frameline.org

"We're very excited to be making our premiere in my hometown and at Frameline 35," says writer/director David Lewis. "There is a very strong, Bay Area team that helped create this film and we all put our focus and positive energy into delivering a film that will surely titillate and hopefully delight audiences. As they say, things are BIGGER in Texas!"

LONGHORNS (2011, USA, David Lewis) travels back to Texas, 1982, where the world is ruled by big hair, synth-pop and cowboy boots. Kevin (Jacob Newton) is a straight, frat-boy who enjoys bonding with his fellow schoolmates; besides, it's all about helping a buddy out, right? When he encounters Cesar (Derek Villanueva) an openly gay student, Kevin's heart starts to flutter for the young man, setting off a chain of events where sexual identity comes into question and a
weekend fueled by beers, straight porn and sexual frustration will lead to multiple bed-hopping and questions about which side of the fence some of these "longhorns" sit on! The film also stars Dylan Vox (Titanic 2, "The Lair"), Kevin Held, Stephen Matzke (Go Go Reject), Bonnie Marion, Katrina Sherwood and Sophia Revelli. LONGHORNS also features principal photography by Frazer Bradshaw (Everything Strange and New), produced by Lewis Tice (BearCity) and H.P. Mendoza (Fruit Fly). Mendoza also serves as editor and created the original soundtrack for the film, which will be available on iTunes soon.

Writer/director David Lewis is an award-winning filmmaker, journalist and book editor. His film career began in 2002 when he wrote and edited Under One Roof. Since then,he has written and directed three features: Rock Haven, Redwoods (winner of the prestigious Iris Prize in Wales), and his latest, LONGHORNS. He also wrote and produced the short film Can't Buy Me Love, which won audience awards at multiple film festivals. His films have been distributed through TLA Releasing
