Justin Beets BIO
Justin Beets has been in the Theatre Business since the 4th grade, previously working for Florida Repertory Theatre, Currently a Graduate Student at UCSD, and is an Undergraduate from Texas State University with a BFA of Theatre Design and Technology with an emphasis in Lighting Design.
In my work as an Assistant Lighting Designer with professionals in the business, I have cultivated advanced skills in Lightwright and Vectorworks. As well as an ability to work in a fast-paced environment, while keeping collaboration and communication.
I have been the only Electrician for a summer stock Opera making me work incredibly hard for extensive hours, a Board Operator and Programmer for shows that change every performance, and a Follow-spot Operator an immense amount of times, and I know what they need to succeed.
My work in various theatres has given me knowledge about a variety of equipment young and old, such as Smart lighting with movement and LEDs, from classic circuiting to gateways.
I know to be a Lighting Designer I see on Broadway, I need to be a phenomenal Assistant Lighting Designer and work my way up. All of these above experiences have made me extremely confident in my work.
