Luminaries and executives from the hotel and tourism, Broadway, and restaurant industries, will gather on Monday, May 1, 2023 at the 'Red Carpet Hospitality Gala,' an Annual Dinner hosted by the Hotel Association of New York City Foundation (HANYC Foundation).

The Shed has announced the election of Jonathan M. Tisch as Chair of its Board of Directors. He succeeds Founding Chair Daniel L. Doctoroff who has stepped down for health reasons but remains a Board member and steadfast supporter.

Alex Poots, Artistic Director and CEO of The Shed, announced today that the new nonprofit cultural organization dedicated to commissioning, developing, and presenting original works of art, across all disciplines, for all audiences, will launch its opening season on April 5, 2019. New York City's new arts center, designed for 21st-century artists and audiences, will present world premiere works in the performing arts, visual arts, and popular culture in its innovative, movable building when it opens its doors to the public on Manhattan's west side. Poots also announced the honorary naming of The Shed's building and two of its major spaces in recognition of visionary supporters of the project, four additional artistic commissions for the first half of the opening season, and information about operating hours and tickets.

THE ELEPHANT MAN Ends Broadway Run Tomorrow


Three-time Academy Award nominee Bradley Cooper, Academy Award nominee and Emmy Award winner Patricia Clarkson and Alessandro Nivola will play their final Broadway performance in Bernard Pomerance's Tony Award-winning classic The Elephant Man on Saturday, February 21 after 35 previews and 83 regular performances. Directed by 6-time Tony Award nominee Scott Ellis, the production began performances on November 7, 2014 and officially opened on December 7, 2014 at Broadway's Booth Theatre (222 West 45th Street, NYC). The Elephant Man begins a 12 week limited engagement at London's Theatre Royal Haymarket on May 19, 2015 for a limited engagement through August 8, 2015.

'Michael Feinstein's American Songbook' To Premiere on PBS 10/6


Feinsteins_American_Songbook_20010101 'Michael Feinstein's American Songbook,' a three-part series about the history of American song hosted by singer and pianist Michael Feinstein, will premiere on PBS on October 6, TV by the Numbers reports. Parts Two and Three will air on October 13 and 20, respectively. All three parts will air at 8pm on their respective dates. Feinstein will perform standards and discuss his own experiences, including encounters with notable performers and composers and his efforts to preserve the history of the Great American Songbook. The series will also include archival footage.
