The Department of Art at Western Connecticut State University has announced the 2021 MFA Thesis Exhibition at the Blue Mountain Gallery located at 547 West 27th Street, Suite 200, New York City.

The New Art Dealers Alliance (NADA) is proud to present a partnership with Kickstarter for the 6th edition of NADA New York, which will take place March 2-5 at Skylight Clarkson North (572 Washington St). Kickstarter will serve as the lead partner for NADA Presents, an interdisciplinary program of performances and conversations from exhibitors, artists, and cultural partners. This will be the program's third year.

In its first event celebrating the short story, Lucky Penny received over three dozen submissions from writers in Solano, Sonoma, and Napa counties.  A panel selected eleven representative stories to be dramatically read by actors in front of a live audience on Sunday June 12 at 2 PM. 

Today, 437 local nonprofit organizations will be seeking donations during the second annual, 24-hour GREAT GIVE, sponsored by the Community Foundation for Palm Beach and Martin Counties and the United Way of Palm Beach County. But yesterday, 10 of these nonprofits united for a musical overture to this year's GREAT GIVE as nine talented pianists simultaneously played nine painted pianos in the poolside Palm Court at The Colony Hotel, Palm Beach. Toronto, 5 November 2013…On Sunday, November 24, 2013, VOICEBOX: Opera in Concert presents the Canadian Premiere of Benjamin Britten's GLORIANA. The work premiered in London at Covent Garden in 1953 and was written in celebration of the coronation of Queen Elizabeth II, a monarch now in the 50th year of her reign. “We are very excited about this performance” said General Director Guillermo Silva-Marin. “It is rare that we have the opportunity to present the Canadian premiere of a major work by a legendary composer from our own era to our public. I'm sure Toronto's opera lovers will be curious and thrilled by this magnificent work.”

Commemorative anniversaries for three great composers from three different musical eras will be celebrated this year and VOICEBOX: Opera in Concert's own 40th Anniversary Season highlights the brilliance of this operatic legacy. “Rameau, Verdi and Britten were unequalled in their ability to combine insights into the human condition with music of power and originality and our operas for this season showcase their genius,” says General Director Guillermo Silva-Marin.

SculptureCenter has announced the first LIC Block Party, presented with the Purves Street Block Association. The LIC Block Party features artist-led activity tents, a stage with live music and interactive performances, and a community-built, large-scale temporary sculpture. Within SculptureCenter's expansive galleries, guests will find the Artist Market with a selection of the best affordable and functional art and objects, and a family-friendly food court with food by local restaurants.
