Tony Award and Grammy Award -winning songwriter DUNCAN SHEIK follows up his Broadway sensation, SPRING AWAKENING, with his new musical WHISPER HOUSE. Concert readings of the production will take place at Vassar and New York Stage and Film's Powerhouse Theater program in Poughkeepsie, NY on the Vassar campus on July 10/11 followed by a debut run at the Old Globe Theatre in San Diego, CA on January 13 - February 21.

On Whisper House, Sheik employs a narrative approach to songwriting, combining elements of the chamber pop that first brought him critical and commercial acclaim.

In support of his latest album Whisper House, Duncan Sheik is partnering with Ebay's Giving Works and Amnesty International to offer a personal songwriting lesson** and meet and greet passes for his Spring North American tour. Whisper House marks Sheik's first solo album since 2006's White Limousine and comes on the heels of the success of the Broadway musical Spring Awakening. On Whisper House, Sheik employs a narrative approach to songwriting, combining elements of the chamber pop that first brought him critical and commercial acclaim. Much like Spring Awakening, which the New York Times praised as a deft blend of straight-up rock, folk and melodic pop, Whisper House is just as much a pop record as it is a musical theatre composition.
