The Broadway community mourns the loss of Tony Award winner Carole Shelley, who passed away on Friday, August 31 at age 79. Take a moment to remember the legendary star with a look back at some of her recent appearances.

According to the Daily Mail, Pedro Almodovar's WOMEN ON THE VERGE OF A NERVOUS BREAKDOWN has added more big names to its cast, including WICKED's Willemijn Verkaik and Haydn Oakley, WE WILL ROCK YOU's Ricardo Afonso, JERUSALEM's Sarah Moyle, THE WIZARD OF OZ's Marianne Benedict, and VIVA FOREVER's Rebecca McKinnis.

Hadyn Gwynne, Jerome Pradon and Anna Skellern join Tamsin Greig in the UK premiere of David Yazbek and Jeffrey Lane's new musical adaptation of Pedro Almodovar's Oscar-nominated film Women on the Verge of a Nervous Breakdown. Directed by Tony Award-winner Bartlett Sher, and following two full-scale development workshops with actors, musicians and the creative team, the production will open in a limited run for 20 weeks only at The Playhouse Theatre on 12 January 2015, with previews from 20 December 2014.

Last night, January 23, 2012 The Old Vic hosted a Gala evening of entertainment, Old Vic New York, at Gotham Hall, New York City. Hosted by Stephen Fry, the evening included a number of British and American personalities taking to the stage, as part of this one off theatrical extravaganza led by Kevin Spacey. The Evening Standard Theatre Awards, established in 1955, are presented annually for outstanding achievements in London Theatre. Sponsored by the Evening Standard newspaper, this year's awards will be announced on November 20.

On Wednesday, May 27th at 8pm (check local listings for details), Great Performances on PBS presents a dazzling documentary 'In the Heights: Chasing Broadway Dreams'. This special will go down as the greatest commercial of all time for a Broadway musical, that took an enormous risk, moving from Off-Broadway to Broadway and running off with the 2008 Tony Award for Best Musical.

Tune in to Thirteen (WNET/Ch. 13) on Monday, December 1st at 8pm for the world premiere of 'Finding Billy,' a fascinating behind-the-scenes look at the nationwide search for the three actors who play the lead role in Billy Elliot the Musical on Broadway. During the broadcast, stars David Alvarez, Trent Kowalik, Kiril Kulish and Carole Shelley will be present in the Thirteen studio to talk about the show.
