Wing Night At The Boot Opens This Week


Decades worth of colourful stories and memories that have emerged from the Blyth Inn commercial tavern are captured in the Blyth Festival's Wing Night at the Boot, a play written by The Company, which opens Aug. 8.

Grand Theatre Announces Casting for Upcoming Season


The Grand Theatre is thrilled to announce an extraordinary line-up of local and national, returning and debuting artists in the 2017/18 Season. The season features a stunning artistic presence including Tara Rosling, Benedict Campbell, Catherine Joell MacKinnon and Daniel Williston. In addition, the Grand welcomes nationally and internationally renowned directors including Peter Hinton, Tracey Flye, Carey Perloff, and the Grand's Artistic Director Dennis Garnhum, who makes his Grand directing debut in his first season. Single tickets go on sale Tuesday July 4, 2017.

BWW Preview: Montreal Fall Theatre Season


The Montreal English theatre season is picking up again with the Segal Centre's My Name Is Asher Lev which opened over the weekend. The adaptation of Chaim Potok's 1972 novel follows the story of a young Jewish man whose artistic talent separates him from his traditional family and threatens his relationship with community and faith. My Name is Asher Lev runs from Sept. 11 to Oct. 2 with tickets starting at $45.

JAMES MASLOW, the actor and singer perhaps best known for playing the role of James Diamond in Nickelodeon's 'Big Time Rush' and a member of the band with the same name, will star as the legendary Dr.John Watson, along with RENNE OLSTEAD, best known for her role as Lauren Miller in the TV sitcom 'Still Standing,' and as Madison Cooperstein in 'The Secret Life of the American Teenager,' as the well-to-do-American, Lady Irene St. John, opposite DAVID ARQUETTE in the title role as SHERLOCK HOLMES. The two actors will make their stage debuts in this new and original adaptation inspired by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle's classic tales by playwrightGreg Kramer and directed by Andrew Shaver scheduled to play Chicago's Oriental Theatre (24 W Randolph) November 24 - 29, 2015. The Canadian premiere of THE GOODNIGHT BIRD, Centaur Theatre's fourth play of six in the 2014-15 season, plays from February 24 to March 22, 2015. The joint production with Vancouver's Kay Meek Centre, where the production made its Western Canadian premiere in January, is written by Colleen Murphy and directed by Centaur's Artistic and Executive Director, Roy Surette.
