Drama Learning Center's professional training company for emerging young artists will present the period musical drama Parade from June 10-18, 2016.

Rabbi Steven Lebow, of Temple Kol Emeth - Marietta, Georgia who has fought for Leo Frank's exoneration for decades, will be available via Skype after TYA's Sunday June 12 matinee performance for a Talkback with the audience and cast. He has graciously agreed to answer questions about the case and discuss why the Leo Frank story is important today. Also on stage will be TYA Parade cast members who will share how playing real-life people so intimately involved in this tragic story, has impacted their lives.  Join us for the show and this special event. Drama Learning Center's professional training company for emerging young artists will present the area premiere of new musical comedy First Date this month.

Drama Learning Center's professional training company for emerging young artists will present the area premiere of new musical comedy First Date this month.

Drama Learning Center's teen professional company will present Bring It On the Musical next month. Based on the major motion picture franchise of the same name, Bring It On the Musical follows would-be cheer captain Campbell as she is suspiciously re-districted from preppy Truman High to the hard-knock Jackson High. Against the odds, Campbell befriends the head of Jackson's dance crew, Danielle. Together, they form a powerhouse cheerleading squad to stand toe-to-toe with Campbell's old team while they learn about the complexities of friendship, jealousy, betrayal, and forgiveness.

Center Stage has announced the honorees for this year's Young Playwrights Festival, an annual competition that welcomes Maryland students in grades K-12 to submit original scripts. This year, student playwrights submitted nearly 500 plays. The plays selected will be showcased with workshops, in-school performances, and select pieces will be staged at the Annual Young Playwrights Festival performance at Center Stage on Monday, May 5, at 7 pm.

Tickets are now on sale for The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee at Drama Learning Center in Columbia. The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee centers around a fictional spelling bee in Putnam Valley Middle School. Quirky adolescents compete in the Bee, run by equally quirky grown-ups. The 2005 Broadway production was nominated for six Tony Awards, and won two, including Best Book. As with the original Broadway production, this iteration will also involve audience participation.
