Pan Asian Repertory Theatre is launching its 45th Milestone Season of recovery and healing with the return to LIVE theater beginning after the new year and celebrating the Lunar New Year with the annual return engagement of the acclaimed 2018 production of The Emperor’s Nightingale by Damon Chua (Incident at Hidden Temple).
The limited return engagement that includes public and student matinee performances begins this Saturday afternoon, January 15, 2022 and concludes Sunday afternoon, January 30, 2022 at Theatre Row (410 West 42nd Street).

America's Got Talent's Jeffrey Li made his musical theater debut in the developmental reading of Lainie Sakakura (producer/book) and Paul Fujimoto's (music/lyrics) CORNER OF BITTER AND SWEET, a musical adaptation of The New York Times Best Selling novel, HOTEL ON THE CORNER OF BITTER AND SWEET by Jamie Ford at The Playroom Theater in New York on September 17.
Sakakura is presenting an invitation-only developmental reading of Lainie Sakakura (producer/book) and Paul Fujimoto's (music/lyrics) The Corner of Bitter and Sweet, a musical adaptation of The New York Times Best Selling novel, Hotel on the Corner of Bitter and Sweet by Jamie Ford, at 7:30 p.m. on Monday, September 17 at The Playroom Theater, 151 W. 46th Street in New York.
NJ Rep is now presenting the world premiere of 'Issei, He Say (Or the Myth of the First)' through May 20. Written by Chloe Hung and directed by Lisa James, the play has superb staging and an excellent cast. It reveals many of the challenges faced by first generation immigrants.
