To Celebrate Black History Month, New York City's leading arts-education non-profit organization Inside Broadway (www.InsideBroadway.org) will present the classic Duke Ellington musical Sophisticated Ladies to over 25 N.Y.C. Public Schools throughout Manhattan, Brooklyn, Queens & The Bronx at the end of January and during February & March. A dancing and singing celebration of history & music, this award-winning Broadway musical examines Duke Ellington's life and focuses on the Harlem Renaissance, a unique time of cultural growth in New York's history. Inside Broadway's special production will tour schools beginning next week, with the first performance on Monday, January 25th. Performances are scheduled at the end of January and throughout the months of February & March.

Off Broadway's interactive, improvised musical The Greatest Pirate Story Never Told!, written by Christopher Leidenfrost and directed by Rick Leidenfrost-Wilson, has been extended for a second time, and continues to commandeer the Snapple Theater Center's Jerry Orbach Theater every Saturday at 11 a.m.

Off Sides Entertainment Inc. has announced that after highly successful runs at Planet Connections Theatre Festivity (garnering 10 award nominations, including Best Musical) and the Crown and Anchor Theatre in Provincetown, MA, an open-ended run of Christopher Leidenfrost's new half-scripted/half-improvised musical comedy, THE GREATEST PIRATE STORY NEVER TOLD! Rated Arrrrrrr! will run at the Snapple Theater Center on Broadway. The production is now in previews and will officially open on Thursday, December 5th at 8:00 p.m. The adult 'Rated ARRRRRRR!' show will play Thursdays at 8:00 p.m. and a specifically family-friendly version will run on Saturdays at 11AM. The implausible story came straight from the bottom of the barrel tabloid, The Weekly World News. Three teenage spelunkers in West Virginia find a half human/half bat creature. The local sheriff brings him to the home of the town's veterinarian, Dr. Parker, whose kind wife, Meredith, takes care of him and transforms him into a likeable person. Their rebellious teenage daughter, Shelley, falls in love with him and Meredith reveals a shocking secret: Bat Boy is Shelley's twin brother!
