The Arctic Group has commissioned playwright Daniel Talbott (Slipping and Afghanistan, Zimbabwe, America, Kuwait) to write a new short play that will be performed on a double bill with Steve McMahon's Sad Indie Love Song in Series B of their inaugural FRIDGE Festival. The festival runs August 31 - September 10, and Series B will play Thu 8/31 at 9pm, Sun 9/3 at 7pm, Wed 9/6 9pm, and Sat 9/9 at 7pm.

THE ARTS EFFECT has announced that its acclaimed production of SLUT The Play and its companion piece NOW THAT WE'RE MEN will extend through March 6 at Dixon Place (161A Chrystie Street). THE ARTS EFFECT and has announced the addition of two performances of the new play NOW THAT WE'RE MEN, a companion piece to the previously-scheduled production of SLUT The Play at Dixon Place (161A Chrystie Street) from January 28 through February 27. While SLUT The Play from the All-Girl Theater Company deals with rape culture through the lives of teenage girls, NOW THAT WE'RE MEN serves as a thematic prequel from the male perspective. The second play, written and directed by Katie Cappiello and developed in collaboration with 15 to 18 year-old high school students, will be performed Saturday, February 6 at 1:00 PM and Tuesday, February 9 at 7:00 PM.

The September Play Project, or #SPP, launches its inaugural year with a series of new works on the rooftop space of The Delancey, 168 Delancey Street, New York, NY 10002 on September 13th and 14, 2014. Both performances will be at 5 PM. The plays are all 6 minutes in length and set outdoors. The series was conceived by co­producers Jenny Gomez and Jessica Mazo. The aim of the Project is to provide a diverse set of artists with a comfortable platform where they can create, with full production support. 100% of the proceeds from ticket sales will be split evenly between all the playwrights, actors, and directors that have volunteered their time and talent for the project.
