Cheri Lynne VandenHeuvel BIO

Cheri Lynne VandenHeuvel holds her MFA from University of Missouri Kansas City, and is an alumni of The Second City Detroit. She has worked in regional theatre to great acclaim across the country and currently makes her home in Los Angeles.

Notable roles include Sophie in FLYIN' WEST at the International City Theatre in Long Beach, where StageSceneLA said of her, “VandenHeuvel’s Amazonian proportions command attention from Sophie’s first entrance, but it is the strength and guts the Shakespeare vet displays as Flyin’ West’s roughly-hewn heroine that elevate her performance from powerful to veritable force of nature.” and the LA Times said she "is mesmerizing as the gruff and intreped Sophie.”

About her most recent performance in the world premiere of Inda Craig-Galván's drama I GO SOMEWHERE ELSE at the Playwright's Workshop in Atwater Villiage, the reviewer Theatre Ghost wrote:
"In Mama/Reda, Craig-Galván has written one of American theater’s great “terrible mother” roles, worthy to stand beside Glass Menagerie‘s Amanda and Gypsy‘s Mama Rose. And Cheri Lynne VandenHeuvel gives it a definitive performance, delivering every moment and nuance with almost superhuman range and power. Her achievement drew a leaping ovation, and made one patron sit down again, breathlessly asking, “What did we just see?”
